Why do people like bad stories like Final Fantasy?Can someone tell me why?

personally, Final Fantasy has one of the worst stories ever in in vidoegames, I said one of! I did not say the absulote all time worst so please no trolling.

I think people like stories is because people are just to lazy to pay any attintion to bad stories anymore. Hell I have ADD and pay attintion to bad stories better then 90% of gamers anymore! it seems as bad stories come out, the more trolls come and say, "Storey two confuziling! horribllely storiy! TROLL TROLL, Let'z Mak it'z sem good to Everyone so No one will hate stories any'smore's!

yes, final fantasy in general.

The only one I've played is 7, but there's nothing inherently bad about it. I don't really remember being confused while I was playing it.

The stories are not bad (except FF8 and maybe some of the earlier ones like FF and FF2) they honestly just have very basic stories that's all.

I've played 7 - 10 and while there were some cliche aspects, I liked the stories. As was said, much better than games from other genres.

They aren't bad, they just aren't great or well written (also they have non sensical and oftendumb plots) They are still entertaining which is all I ask for.

A game doesn't need a fantastic story for people to like it. A simple story doesn't make it bad either.

I'm guessing the only FF the TC played was 12.

Some are overrated, but they are far from bad stories.

They're better than most JRPGs out there. XIII certainly looks to have a great story.

People like stories in video games for some reason. Beats me why. Video games, by far, have the worst stories compared to other mediums.

A few of the Final Fantasy games have some of the best stories in video games imo :(

seriously? other then the classic top down ones I have always loved the stories in final fantasy and felt them well played out and made, especially the story in FFX.

im wondering what exactly the TS considers a good story, for a 20+ hour game i think the story is pretty good

all the final fantasies on PS1 and PS2 were great games(never played any of the nes titles so i cant speak for those) that had brilliant stories that kept me playing for hours on end.i cudnt tell you how many timesi would tell myself 'ok ima stop playing at the next save point' but wuold play for several hours past that checkpoint cuz i cudnt wait to see what came next. when a game can make you wannacontinue playing even when you sortawanna stop thats when you know you got a good story and a great game :)

Let's start with you telling us the last 3 FF titles you played, and what you found bad about each story? There are dozens of titles under the FF monicker. If you really want to talk about this, it will help by hearing which stories you are talking about.

Final Fantasy doesn't have horrible stories as much as full of cliches, plotholes and answers handed out like candy. If your looking for a well paced and deep thinking story then look elsewhere.

Matter of opinion and depends on what you're comparing to. All RPG plots are cliched and well-trodden but just because they're unoriginal doesn't make them bad.

final fantasy 7 has the best story ever in a game. obviously that is my opinion but I will defend it to my death. shoot, final fantasy 7 is the greatest game ever made, no ifs ands or buts. boo ya
