Why do people (like me) hate the PS3 so much?

The price sucks , but I don't see why a Sony fan would be so angry deep down when you consider the best altenative is a $400 console + at least a couple of more hundred to play games online with the 360. It will cost you the same for the 360 (or more) , but you get less.

I used to be the biggest Sony fan around, until they announced the $600 pricetag at E3. I was floored at first, found myself trying to make excuses as to how I might be able to afford it. Then my doubt became anger, and I pledged from then on to not get a PS3 until the price was maybe 1/3 of that huge pricetag. Since then, of course, Sony has made many many stupid comments in th media. Other than the pricetag and these idiotic public statements by Sony, why do I hate the PS3 so much? I don't hate the PS3, I dislike its high end price and I find its current game library lack luster but I by no means hate this new technology.  I think if you hate on a piece of hardware you have problems, hate the way Sony do business by all means but why hate on poor defenceless inanimate objects.

Its not about hate, its just liking another system over the other one. Personally i use to like ps1 and ps2 till i got bored of playing games on there. so shifted to Nintendo DS and loved it, which made my mind buying the Wii, with its games.

I don't hate it.

I would never buy it, and I will adamantly defend the system I DO own (the Wii)

But I don't hate it. Please, for the sake of the current PS3 owners, put some GAMES on that system. People think the Wii has it bad? Look at the PS3 (no offense).

I think hate is probably a bit extreme, don't you think? (OK, I know the board I'm dealing with here, but still) Maybe its the game selection. I think it would have more to do with the way Sony is marketing the system. Some serious arrogance there.

It really shouldn't be about the price, although that's a big deal for many people. Personally, if I had the cash to buy either the 360 or the PS3 and say ,two games, right now, I would buy the 360. No contest. If the PS3 was exactly the same price as the 360, and I had the same cash flow, I would pick the 360.  Again no contest. Heck, if I had $600 and no game systems at all... I would go out and buy the Playstation 2 and a boat load of games, before I bought the PS3.

Its simply a matter of value. Don't hate the system... hate the people that are not giving a loyal fan what they want.

Exactly. You and the hundred other rabid PS3 haters have no reason at all, but the board is still flooded with Sony hate. It's kind of sad, really.

The reason I dislike amnd am beginning to dislike the PS3 so much is because of some of the fanboys in systemwars. Not only do they consider themselves and their gaming machines better and more sophisticated than the rest but they constantly disrespect people who use the other consoles. I suppose if I was a PS3 fan I would think the same of the 360 fanboys but regardless I have and own a 360. I actually do intend to purchase a Wii as well once they become more available and maybe some day a PS3.

I'm not speaking about every fan of the PS3 but the small minority who continue to post utter nonsense speaks leaps and bounds over those that speak with respect.
