Why do people say halo 3 would not have a 9.5 if it came out this year.

Gamespot says,(don't have a link right now, I am sure someone does)"We compare games to others in the genre on that system and to other platforms"(or something like that). The thing is though is that to have the bar raised, don't you need to atleast tie halo 3's score(As in they enjoyed halo but they said this new game is 9.5, after even comparing to halo, so therefore it is better.. What games in the FPS has scored 9.5 since halo 3's release? I think crysis came out after halo and stalker..(the other FPS' that scored 9.5s or higher.). They also say we take into account the systems capability, so the PS3 and X360 is even more comparable.

Kz2 wouldve destroyed it if it came out the same time as Halo 3.

If Bungie made a FPS that was only marginally better than Halo 3 it would not score a 9.5. (I dont think Bungie will make a game that is ONLY marginally better im just using an example.)

But it only scored 9.0 at the time no console FPS has scored 9.5 or higher since Halo 3 therefore the reviewers didn't think it was a good as halo 3, it would have to score atleast 9.5.

That argument doesn't work, if Halo 3 came out now, Bungie would have had 2 extra years for more polish. If they knew it was coming out in 2009 form the start they would have probably even have made a new engine.

Millions disagree, I would explain to why it is popular, if you are willing to accually read it and not just blow it off because you hate the 360.

That argument doesn't work, if Halo 3 came out now, Bungie would have had 2 extra years for more polish. If they knew it was coming out in 2009 form the start they would have probably even have made a new engine.

Because it makes their 9.0's look comparable. Halo 3 is the cream of the crop when it comes to console FPS's, but many like to ignore the popular and dig their little niche.

I disagree about the online part, there are really not that many "10 year olds", nor racist, but more are on XBL because people have more mics, it is that simple. The aim assist isn't really that heavy.

halo 3 could of been the best game ever made, it has the potentail of it. BUT bungie sat on their arse for 3 years and on the 4th they relised oh **** we have a game to make. its not even displayed in a high def resolution, and there are waaay to many jagie edges.Up2TheBeat

GTs: Planet Beatbox(50 mlg but got deranked to 49), DKF Chaos,( 25 in one week) DK So Siick(one im using atm)(14 or 15 but ratio is like 1.4 from strictly mlg)

Not playing right now tho too busy with keeping up with the event in dallas.

It works in the lemming favor funny enough due to the fact that no console FPS has matched halo, therefore the bar hasn't been raised since 2007, sadly.

Did you watch dallas last night? Also cool, the battle rifle= OWNAGE. But with a game like halo, unless you play it extensivly people will never see why it is so fun, it is shallow and deep at the sametime. To the people who say halo 3 takes no skill I laugh at you.

Im not so sure, I still think its the co-op modes that give halo 3 the edge. This is from a pure cow.

It could be argued that if Killzone 2 had never been made that Bungie wouldn't even be trying to buff up a new graphics engine for their next..next game.

Halo is the only game still being talked about because of its gameplay as well.. What happened to Uncharted 1, GEOW 1/2, and soon to be KZ2 after a game beat them(graphically) they stopped getting talked about... Crysis is only talked about because of its graphics(not saying it is a bad game but come on admit it... many PC gamers like STALKER more, but it doesn't get talked about nearly as often)

idk, yeah, killzone isnt really all that awesome. Sure technically its amazing, which if it came out in 07 might have given it an edge, but its just not all that much fun. Halo imo is still alot more fun than killzone

I already addressed that, for the bar to be raised a game that is an FPS would have to tie/beat halo 3s score and no console game and only 2 PC games have does this.
