Why do people still even defend Sony anymore????

As that Sony lies thread has shown, Sony has made some supremely arrogant and wrong claims about the performance and capabilities of the PS3. Sony has screwed their console buyers time and time again. The games are flopping at an epic proportion (Heavenly Sword? LAIR??? etc...). And the market is responding to Sony's mess by poor sales. It simply costs way too much. Yet I come to system wars, and PS3 people are defending the PS3 like people are talking badly about their grandmother. Why do these people put up with all of the lies, and why do they allow themselves to be jerked around constantly by Sony?

I'm just trying to help. Trust me.

Anyway, even if they have been lying and stuff, the PlayStation 3 is still the best current-gen console, and with the release of Final Fantasy XIII and Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns Of The Patriots, it'll have the best line-up of games.

Because they want to seem there purchase seem worth it. Which is natural, I do it for 360, Sheep for the Wii. People somehow think Sony is doing this blue-ray player for the good for gaming (I really don't know how people get that idea), also a game to have 4x the contend of lets say Gears of War would be WAY to expensive, and take a really long time. Still I think over time the Playstation 3 will be worth it after a few price drops, for now looking at the gaming perspective and not the movie perspective I don't really see any reason to own it over a 360 (For now... ). I think it's 33% and MS said that all 360s without the extra heatsink have the potential to fail.

Here you go. It's a good read. And no, most of the things posted were not by 360 and Wii fanboys making stuff up about the PS3- I personally remember a lot of these comments being made by Sony reps, with links provided here on system wars. It was funny back then, and even funnier now.

That's right.

It is not hard to defend the ps3 when I look at the big picture. I am not gullible so I don't believe every thing I see and hear and I have reallistic expectations most of the time.Some people are only stuck on the right now and all of the negatives without looking at any the positives and the things that will come to the playstation 3 and how it will develop. I have faith in Sony's internal studios , I have faith in their longterm support , and I have faith that they are taking online very seriously. Overall I see happiness coming despite a few game flops here and there. Every system will have its fair share of games that don't turn out well like Lair. I liked that Sony took a chance on Lair and I don't blame them , the blame fallson the shoulders of Factor 5 for not delivering on the great concept.

The Wii just isn't an option for me because of my gaming tastes ...... and Microsoft hasn't done enough for me to switch over. It isn't any cheaper and the great looking exclusive games are either completely out of my genre tastesor I prefer more of the ps3's games over it.

because they have gave me 10 years of great service. sony is the best at hyping there products and it works. ps 1 100 million user base. ps 2 140 milion user base. so far the ps 3 is selling more in europe then the ps 2 did in the same time frame. 360 has the most unliable system to date. sony got sue for falty ps 2 but it was not nearly as much as 33% microsoft will be sued soon anuff for this. sony does not lie they really like for all of what they say to come true but sometimes it does not pan out. there not milking us anymore. multitap or memory cards. microsoft is the new cow went back to memory cards. all the add ons and such. no system never had to add a three year warrenty. sony gave us well designed machine that will last this time. it is not cheap to make cousole as powerful as ps 3 and make it realiable. these machine get very hot. they have the most first party companys both of them put together. they don'treally on third partiesandpaythem to make exclusives. sony don't pay for exclusives the earn them. But honestly though, if someone likes the games and the console, that's all that really matters.

I can't seem to understand why people don't like certain games, or bash them wildly despite certain flaws present in games they hype or better yet why they seem to like games I think are complete trash.

But where do I get off asking them why. It's their opinion, their own choice - I've no reason to question it really.

Although there's one thing I'd like to know, does anyone actually care what Sony or any of the other companys have to say for themselves? It's PR talk - we could all do without it.

I have a hard time understanding why more $$ for Sony is better for fans. It's not like Sony is having any free $$ give aways.

Let's dissect this. PS2 was one of the most successful consoles ever and it brought Sony unprecedented wealth.... Sooooooo what's Sony doing with all this money??? Why building blu-ray players and shoving them down our throats for $600 of course!!! Securing exclusive rights from talented developers like Ninja Theory (lol) ? Pouring $$ and advertising into it's worst exclusive : Lair.

Listen. I owned a PS1 and PS2, and loved both. I used to be a major playstation guy. But Sony just did us, the consumers, wrong this time around. If they had just released a blu-ray-less PS3, a year earlier, for $399, Sony would simply continue to dominate the XBOX, and I wouldn't even have considered buying a 360. But Sony screwed up, big time, wtih the PS3. They deserve whatever bad befalls them due to their arrogance that they can do no wrong. I don't think that the PS3 is crap itself, but Sony has made it unbuyable for me, and apparently unbuyable for the 100+ million of PS2 owners.

The higher ups at Sony say a lot of things. That doesn't keep the PS3 from having a lot of potential though. Resistance and Motorstorm aren't all that bad and the unit itself does also play Bluray movies. There's not much on it right now, but the good games will come in time. The PS2 and PS1 probably had similar starts and they ended up being pretty successful systems.PikaPichu

I agree with that, Blu-Ray is not needed as an important format for now, in the future yes, but not now. Now, don't think SONY will loose this gen just like that to Nintendo or MS. Microsoft is doing very well I admit and I plan on getting a 360 as soon as the new chips come in 33% failure rate bugs me, and will get a PS3 when the price drops. And those 100+ million PS2 owners might not ALL have a PS3 but some have. Just like not all Xbox owners have a 360 yet.
