They already have won the sales war... both hardware and software...They arguably have the best game this gen. (SMG) They dominate the handheld/console gaming market by doubling their rivals, the PSP is almost on life support and dying 3rd party support. What do sheep have left to prove? Nintendo victorious. With the other platforms there are always new games to talk about, always more games to play, to discuss, to pit up against one another, etc. The Wii lacks sorely in that department and it is made even more embarassing by the fact that it is so far ahead in sales, for the first time in industry history the console with the most sales has the least AAA's and AA's. I don't care about sales. What I do care about is if a console is able to support itself with great games and exclusives and to me the Wii has failed to do that. CleanPlayer

There is no denying that the Wii is a ranaway success on a commerical level, but on a gaming level it has turned very ugly.

If you are a big shareholder in Nintendo, then yes, you have a good reason to be smiling. If however you just play games, the Wii is perhaps the worst place to be at the moment. Nintendo targeted the casual gamer in a big way this gen and, as a direct result, the Wii game market is now flooded with shovelware.

There have been no really good games on the Wii since mario galaxy and, perhaps, mariokart.

If the only thing in this forum that had value in a debate here was one's own personal opinion there would be nothing to talk about, everyone would be "Right." WhHat I said was a fact, non disputable. Disagreeing with it is one thing, pretending as if it has no value and does not signify serious trends when it comes to the quality of fare on the Wii, for gamers as a whole, is another. If you could take off your Nintendo fanboy goggles for 5 seconds and step back and think about it you'd realize there's probably some sound reasons as to why the Wii is getting such poor marks across the board.

Anyway, most people have stopped comparing the Wii to the PS3/360 long ago. The Wii isn't in the "next generation" console war, any more than the PSP and DS are. The Wii has its own market and its own unique software and hardware, which, aside from the introduction of new controls, is little more advanced than the last generation Xbox and Gamecube. Sure, it will continue to get some downgraded multiplats, but so will the PS2. Surely we wouldn't include the PS2 in the next gen console war, would we? If so, I consider it the victor. It's still being sold and games are still being made for it.

I'll be playing Tales of Destiny which got a 4.9 here, while you play your glorious Oblivion which got a 9.6. Anything below an 8 isn't worth it, and that's a fact, right?

YES exactly but te reason why the Wii is selling is becuase it is being aimed at an audience which is in a completely diffrent leauge to gamers, ie the family/casual/kids market.

And you must realized that this market is much much larger than the gaming market. Families all around the world would buy a wii. Kids are brainwashed to want a wii..just look at it. And parents would OBVIOUSlY choose the wii for thier kids over the Playstation 3 or 360 anyday.

Yet, they dont know anything about games. they dont look into things like game lineups, they dont know what AA or AAA/AAAA games are, they dont know what 'system wars' is, they dont know what the 360 or PS3 can do compared to the Wii, they dont care about its hardware... And on top of all that the Wii is so freaking cheap.

They just buy it, and give kids some random games like wii play/ wii sports or animal crossing or something and there u have it...'fun'. Not what i see it as tho. hell no lol.

The Wii catalogue is pretty pitiful, even first party Nintendo is mostly fail except for Galaxy and Brawl I can't think of much else worth buying a Wii for other then maybe No More Heroes.
