Why do we care so much about graphics. (among other things)

When it was released, the PS2 had crazy graphics... and yes they did enhace the experience. THey blew people away.

I remember playing MGS2 for the first time.

It was a sight to behold, back then.

No, no. I have no problem with people using text speech. I just can't quite understand how anyone can stick to that damage control attitude.

The sheep put up a stoic face when people claimed the games looked like trash (they did). When SMG came out, the story was different.

Wii owners don't win a damn thing..

All they get is crap online, no multiplat, last gen A.I ( see Metroid Prime 3), mostly shovelware games.
Motion controlsare just flick and point, no big deal, unless you're easily impressed.

dude... if a wii game, has n64 graphics.. that's a problem. it's not one of those things where you can simply dismiss it and say, well gamplay>graphics anyway..

if a wii game is pushed to the max in terms of gameplay and graphics such as SMG, that is a game i can respect, and say gameplay>graphics.

if a WII game has N64 graphics, the devs are damn lazy. that's all it is... you really want to play a game made by lazy devs??

it's like buying an awesome movie on dvd like Ocean's eleven, and then seeing it animated in 8-bits.

If you had said that on the Nsider forums (damn)you would have been band. Honestly i have never played online before so i don't care. My first three consoles were online less. I don't ignore Wii's faults every console has faults you just deal with them.

I was lookin on PSN last night cause a friend was gonna buy a PSone game off of there to put on his PSP. We grabbed one of my old demo discs that had Spyro and Crash and other games on it that I got from somewhere, and I loved the graphics. Spyro looked good, Crash looked nice. And I bought Wild Arms and Medievil before Christmas off of PSN and I love the old graphics.

But I then downloaded a demo of The Club off of PSN and I complained that the character's wrinkles in his vest weren't moving when he walked.:P

I have not played a single game where I have thought " if this game had bad graphics I would still love it just as much." Because I wouldn't. People like graphics the same reason that guys like pretty girls,it pleases the eyes.

Gameplay is far more important than graphics.

I still play N64 games, snes games and such because they are fun regardless of how they look.

Oh how I remember those days when games were played because they were so unrealistic, and now we just want them to be more realistic :(

Speak for yourself I use to play Gameday 97 thinking it was the most realistic game out.

True. But the reason people want great graphics is so that it can go along with the gameplay. Crysis has the best graphics out there,and amazing gameplay.
