Why do we need a console war?

I agree. We shouldn't have a System Wars board. All it does is promote fanboy-ism. I am a proud owner of all 3 next gen consoles. I enjoy them all because I love video games and they each have something unique to offer. There should be a union against system wars.Uncle-Jesse

On the contrary, this is the best place to find the latest info, because all the fanboys spam it to get one up on the other fanboys.

The PC Board is useless, I dont visit the console ones, but I bet they are the same.

I think the point here is why argue?

Because system wars is an incurable cancer that rots our society from the inside, It cant be stopped or contained, Shut Down the Sw forum and fanboys would troll the specific boards of each system.

Gamespot is a popular site because of this particular forum also.

If their wasn't a Console war the company making the Console wouldn't try with the Console because Competition helps increase productivity, and increases Quality Control because If your console isn't the best quality it will fail.

Also the reason their is this System Wars board is to stop people from Trolling anywere else like General Games Discussion, Off Topic Discussion, Legecy Platforms, and the Console Specificy boards.
