Arent games ment to be played. Why dont you just buy a game based off how you think it plays and not just how its graphics are. why dont you give games enough time, games arent always going to have innovation . If you make a game will it have major innovation or just some minor innovation what if someone bashed your game or said it looked ugly. Why do you look at r4eviews for a game and not just buy it ? Everythings not perfect.

Fanboys these days are just as bad as Jaded reviewers. All they want are pretty games that play themselves.

Cuz a game is 60 bucks? seriously what kinda question is that? Do you just go buy a TV at a store cuz it looks kinda good on display?! Plop 1.5k down just like that? course not. You'd look for reviews. Lots of them. Personal accounts, failure rates, features, etc. Obviously a game is a lot less than a TV, but wouldn't you expect a proportionate amount of research relative to its price? Reading a review or two takes like 5 minutes. Playing a demo takes 10 maybe.

Another way to look at it is that the reviews are out there. Why would anyone NOT make use of that resource? Reading reviews will save you money.

That's the idea of System Wars. It's meant for people to complain and moan about the other consoles. It's meant for people to have double standards, complain about the games or features of other consoles, and praise their own preferred system.

Nah, in System Wars, we don't have high standards. We just come up with whatever information supports our side and ignore the rest. And about the complaining, would you rather have it across the entire forums? The idea of System Wars is to quarantine the trolls and flamers.

Reviews give us an estimation of how good the game is from people who does it as a profession and people who've actually played it. This in turn gives us more info on whether the game is worth buying. See most people aren't so rich to buy every game they look at, they most of the time have to choose. And the judgement of a person who played the game helps make that choice. And graphics matter to alot of people, simple as that.

Michael Patcher is a professional analyst. Should we listen to everything he says?

Their reviews are no better than any non fanboy's review. I go to a select few when im unsure about a game, not video game sites. Even the guys at my Gamestop (though they are lemmings) always give fair and accurate reviews for games. Yet game sites rated PDZ AAA, when my brother went to pick it up at Gamestop they said not to because it wasn't as good as it was claimed to be. So we borrowed it from a friend and it turns out he was right.

So honestly, why listen to a review from just another human being, when you can ask a good friend. Unless of course you have no friends, then thats different.

I never said we should make a decision based entirely on the reviews. I said it gives you more info about the game so you can spend your money better.

Well, if we didn't look at an unbiased source for the quality of games on opposing systems, System Wars would be even less rational then it is now.

Sorry, but I need to know that the $50 or $60 I just spent on a game weren't a waste.

I read reviews so I know what's worth my hard earned money. I don't want to go out and buy a game, let's say Hour of Victory, just because it looks cool on the back of the box and then play it and realize it's garbage and I just wasted $60. No thank you. I have semi-high standards because if a developer wants me to buy there game it better be good.

And sure, everything can't be perfect. But there's a fine line between flaws and laziness.

What good is playing video games if you can't go online and tell everyone how much better yours are than everyone else's?
