This topic recently came to my attention when someone was talking about Mass Effect 2. Then I remember watching trailers for ME2 and Bioware had to tell us that Shepard dies and everything. I mean what the hell. Why did they tell us that. Then they show scenes from the very end of the game and stuff in trailers. Its ridiculous. They also told us that Shepard had to go on a suicide mission.

Now there is some new trailer for Mass Effect 2 where the totally spoil the first game. They spoil ever single part in it. They summarize the whole plot and tell of what the reapers are up to. C'mon.

Well they showed us how he dies at the start of the game...not much of a spoiler since it happens in the first 5 minutes.

Its a pretty big spoiler.

Considering it happens so soon, it's not really.

The suicide mission isn't a spoiler. You learn about it about a half hour into the game that you need to build a team for it.

Didn't really bother me especially considering I wasn't expecting it to happen right off the bat.

I know this sounds crazy, but you have the choice not to watch the trailers... I know this sounds like a radical idea, but it works

Here'sa better example of a trailer that spoils the entire movie. Not saying the movie was any good but I remember seeing the trailer in theaters and thinking, "Cool, I get to see two movies for the price of one."

So by "all of their games" you just mean ME2?

it doesn't spoil anything, they left us wondering if sheperd was your char in 2 or if he was dead and you where someone else. Kinda the opposite of a spoiler. Plus. do you think they care if they spoil ME1 for anyone now? it's your own damn fault if you haven't played the first one yet, how much convincing do you need?

You say they're untalented and yet you gave the Last Remnant a 9 (considering it is developed by the worst team at Square)

It's just the nature of the industry. The developers/publishers want to keep the hype for a game up, the gaming media wants to be able to feed their viewership a constant stream of new information and the hardcore fans want to know about even the most minute detail. BioWare just happens to be one of the few developers capable of writing a half-decent story, so when they spoil something it seems more significant.

But yeah, it is quite bad, to the point where I'm making an effort to avoid reading articles or watching videos for games I'm looking forward to. I can't imagine how much better ME2's story would have been if I didn't know about Shepard dying or the various squadmates (particularly Garrus and Legion) beforehand.

They didn't spoil anything really. Shepard dies and is brought back to life withing 10-15 minutes, and the Suicide Mission is explained within 30-40 minutes of the campaign. Not a big deal really.
