Why does everyone hate sony so much ?

I have a PSX and a PS2 and i really see no reason to buy the PS3. Sony lost its credibiliity with false promisses, delays, the same controller as my PS1, one years later/same graphics and arrogance like "next gen only starts when PS3 come out".

The PS2 a garbage console?

Hard to say that...but it's hardware sure as hell was. It was about as unreliable as people claim a 360 is, and Sony never even admitted a problem. I had to buy 4 different PS2's, 3 DRE, and 1 the disc drive just crapped out. Say what you want about MS and RROD, at least they admitted the problem and offered to fix it free. I had to buy 4 different PS2's at full price.

I actually had one of the first model PS2's which believe it or not lasted me about 5-6 years. Of course it sucked in to much dust in the back of that me and my dad had to crack it open and clean the lens out about a good 7 or 8 times. I always kept my console in a ventalated area too. After that one finally crapped the bed I went out and bought one of the smaller ones and the thing was serisouly a God send. No more fans sucking in tons of dust into it, and the lens read all my games in like 3 secs. Having to wait like 2-3 minutes for the first models to read disc's was real annoying.

There are a lot of people from the USA on this forum and Microsoft are an American company. That's why you see a lot of fanboys and even a lot of people with high levels and postcounts always side with Microsoft instead of Sony. And of course, there's the $600 price tag and forced Blu-Ray which pissed off a lotta people.Floppy_Jim

How did Sony force Blu-Ray on anyone, its a decent feature that you don't have to use if you dont want to. For $500 (My 80gb was), you're getting either a Blu-Ray player for free or a game concole for free, which ever way you look at it. (I know someone will take this out of content, but hey, thats what fanboys do best)

Dude this thing has been discussed at more "mature" forums.Aparently the two reasons with which most of the people came out were :

1)Sony doesnt want to win the format war rite now.But its always good to arm the soldiers with weapons before the war starts so that when the war actually takes off,all they have to do is provide the bullets :).The result,an easy win.

2)sony aimed the console for FUTURE i.e. 2008-2013 not for the present.

That's another reason some people hate Sony, the whole "future-proof" thing. A lot of people want everything NOW! They don't wanna wait. The waiting's over though, 2008 has been a much better year for the PS3 than 2007 was, must be at least twice the amount of exclusive games.

Hmmm, I'd say MGS4 was the PS3's main icon but I am expecting greatness from KZ2 :)

If you go by the company's statements, you might as well quit gaming.

Nintendo's "hardcore is still important", "DS is the 3rd pillar, we will still support GBA", "Revolution will change gaming as we know it.", "People don't care about online." and "Cartridges are better than CDs." are not very clever either.

All companies make sad statements.

So maybe "forced" isn't the right word. But it's impossible to buy a PS3 without getting a Blu-Ray player. Some people just want a games machine without having to pay the extra $$$ for something they don't want. But I'm happy having a games machine with built-in Blu-Ray, so I'm not gonna complain.

I am starting to think that as much as people want to hide it.Most of them are actually scared of the PS3 thats why they hate sony.Thats why they try their LEVEL BEST TO GRAB any SMALL and MINUTE mistake out of it and make into a HEAD LINE.People dont really care for these small mistakes and small promises not fullfilled by sony.So far they have satisfied their customers PS3 owners will really know that.

3.) Because it's the "cool " thing to do

4.) Blu-Ray killed HD-DVD ( which pretty much means their HD-DVD add on, is obsolete )
