Why does everyone think that Resistance looks fantastic?

Like, seriously. I love my PS3 to death, more so than my Xbox 360 and Wii. I own Resistance: Fall of Man, and it's still a part of my gaming collection, but seriously, it's the worst looking game for the PS3. The effects are subtle. The environments are bland. All in all, I think that Half Life 2 has better graphics than Resistance. But this IS my OPINION. Though I want to know what all of you think.

But lets not forget the amount of enimies and Allies it had on screen at anyone time,with almost no slowdown.PDZ and GeoW may have looked alot sharper but Resistance had them beat on that count.That was fairly impressive for a luanch title imo.

Post atleast 3 quotes of people calling Resistance' graphics fantastic.

I've never seen any PS3 owner gloat about Resistance' graphics, they only talk about them if they're being compared to something a lot worse (The Conduit in that Resistance vs Conduit thread).

If you look at 360 launch titles like cod2, Kameo, pgr3 and pdz then Reistance looks horribly lame

i really hated the demo .. didn't even finish it

doesn't give me faith in the developer, so i'm not sure what to think of Resistance 2 .. a lot of hype and a big budget don't guarantee a quality game

fairest thing to do is to forget about the first game and just judge this when it comes out .. give the devs are a fresh plate

resistance had more explosions, paticle affects, more things happening on the screen at once, weapons were technical ect than pdz.

Yeah, the physics were pretty crappy in Resistance. I saw Sony PS3 advertisements in magazines praising them and I couldn't help but giggle. Resistance is one of my favorite shooters this gen, but visually, it's underwhelming.

Really? The absolute worst? Have you not even seen half the games that have been released on the PS3. There are games with worst graphics than Resistance.

It had one of the best graphics for a launch title.

KZ2 is the one hyped because of its graphics.

R2 is hyped because of its gameplay.

Insomiac can make some great graphics though, R&C is easily the best looking platformer out and will be for a while, LBP will hopefully beat it.

EDIT: I know LBP is technically not a platformer but it shares the kind of graphics found in games like VP,R&C,SMG,BK, etc.

UHmmmm....nobody is talking about Resistance. They are talking about Resistance 2 which comes out later this year.

I thought some parts were quite beautiful looking. Like that part where you have to climp up and up and up those giant tube things (actually standing on the tubes, not in them,) and there are those tube things everywhere.)

And that part where you first find those chimera that are hooked up to those crazy machines.

Same here. There's nothing like spectating a 40 player one-hit melee match on USS Lexington.

Because they liked the first one a lot? Isn't that enough? I wouldn't say that if you didn't like the first you'd like this, but it looks good.

I'm not saying it'll be awesome or even touch something on the level of Halo, but it should be good.
