I have a 6 year old pc with a 7600gt agp card, and could run Bioshock with medium to high settings, looked sharper than the 360 version. Tha same computer can run anything running the source engine (half life2)wide open with a 1680x1050 wide screen resolution and that will include Left for Dead. And NO I never once felt the need to get Bioshock on the pc after playing the demo. But it would be nice to play it sitting on the couch with 5.1 surround and a 50" screen possibly on the ps3 maybe.
Its just that when any pc gamer sees a so called 360 exclusive but it also appears on the pc it really takes away the need for a 360, or for that matter that sense of a game being different. Hence Mass Effect, Gears, Bioshock, the 3 big hitters for the 360 are on the pc. So as a back sliding pc gamer those games don't seem so special or the need to get a 360. But a ps3 and a pc combined you literally can play everything. LBP, R2, Drakes Fortune, R1, MGS4, Bioshock, Gears, Mass Effect you see how that opens up your options, cause the ps3 games I listed aren't on the pc.
Also about UT3 on the ps3 being hyped (which really weren't cause it failed on the pc aswell prior), you got to remember the ps3 does have mouse and keyboard support for the game which is a huge plus for a twitch shooter. And once again its nice to play sometimes on a 50" screen and 5.1 surround :)
P.S. My pc also has a X-fi sound card that sounds quite nicely running my logitech 5.1 surround. But got to hand it to the DD sound for my surround receiver while playing ps3 games :)
