It annoys me that cows bash the 360 because it shares a lot of its console exclusives with the PC, even though the same could be said about the ps3 sharing most of their games with the 360 and pc anyway.

It amazes me how cows spin this into a negative, how can they possibly give no credit to the 360 when you can only get the game on the 360 and pc and not ps3 or wii?

Do they think every single ps3 owner owns a high end pc or something? If that is the case why would anyone own a ps3 or 360 when they both offer so few exclusives compared to the monstrous pc?

You don't need a high end pc to play a 360/pc multi at higher settings. My laptop plays Bioshock better than the 360, and you can buy a better video card than the 360/PS3 for like $100 now.

They like to pretend that they have high-end PCs because they try to discredit the 360 versions of PC/360 games. If they had high-end gaming PCs like they claim to have, they wouldn't have hyped Unreal Tournament 3 for the PS3, and they wouldn't be buying Bio-shock on PS3 either - they'd be playing them on their PCs, instead.

Great that your laptop can run those types of games with no hiccups, but a lot can't. You missed the point I was trying to make, just because console exclusives may also be on pc doesn't also mean they are worthless and shouldn't be considered a plus on the 360s side.

Actually, the technological gap between PC's and the current gen consoles grew pretty wide the past couple of years. Even current low-end PC configs can run games at par with the 360.

Its not too far fetched to claim that a good number of all three console owners have computers that can run most multiplats/ports.

Man chill out the 360 is dominating the console war at the moment next to the Wii. Microsoft have a share of pie in so many software and hardware sales now that they need some competition to keep them honest.

I own a PS3 and i have a decent PC! Then again not one decent game has come out for the PS3 so im still playing everything on my PC ! MGS4! i could not even be bothered to finish it.

It's just a way of cows trying to make the 360 look worthless.

Truth is it's anything but worthless.

Depending what res you play at it's most likely you'll be playing the graphically inferior versions of Bioshock, Mass Effect, White Gold, The Precursors, Gears and more.

I have a 6 year old pc with a 7600gt agp card, and could run Bioshock with medium to high settings, looked sharper than the 360 version. Tha same computer can run anything running the source engine (half life2)wide open with a 1680x1050 wide screen resolution and that will include Left for Dead. And NO I never once felt the need to get Bioshock on the pc after playing the demo. But it would be nice to play it sitting on the couch with 5.1 surround and a 50" screen possibly on the ps3 maybe.

Its just that when any pc gamer sees a so called 360 exclusive but it also appears on the pc it really takes away the need for a 360, or for that matter that sense of a game being different. Hence Mass Effect, Gears, Bioshock, the 3 big hitters for the 360 are on the pc. So as a back sliding pc gamer those games don't seem so special or the need to get a 360. But a ps3 and a pc combined you literally can play everything. LBP, R2, Drakes Fortune, R1, MGS4, Bioshock, Gears, Mass Effect you see how that opens up your options, cause the ps3 games I listed aren't on the pc.

Also about UT3 on the ps3 being hyped (which really weren't cause it failed on the pc aswell prior), you got to remember the ps3 does have mouse and keyboard support for the game which is a huge plus for a twitch shooter. And once again its nice to play sometimes on a 50" screen and 5.1 surround :)

P.S. My pc also has a X-fi sound card that sounds quite nicely running my logitech 5.1 surround. But got to hand it to the DD sound for my surround receiver while playing ps3 games :)

1280x768 is the least most pc gamers play on, then maybe 1280x1024 and now with wide screens and such possibly 1680x1050. So doubt any pc gamer will be playing at a lower res than the 360.

The guys just being stupid. A 9600 is so much better than anything in the consoles its sickening. My laptop (7950gtx, 4gb ram, T7600 C2D) runs Bioshock at 1280x800 on high, and its a LAPTOP. Any desktop with one of these will run Crysis, screw Bioshock or Gears, on high. Most people here have desktops, right? THAT was my point.

I would point out that you can play more games if you have a PS3/PC combo then a 360/pc combo. Since the 360 share alot more games with PC then the ps3 does with PC and 360. SO to get the most without buying a 360, a pc and a PS3, you can just skip the 360 since it allready shares most of it heavy hitters with the PC.

No, the laptop.

Its a Dell E1705 with XPS stuff crammed in. About $2,000 total a year and a half ago. I use it for portable graphics work though, it would be stupid to suggest someone spend that much for gaming when desktops are so cheap.

*Edit - Gateway's got a $1,300 one with the 9800go now. The $129 9800gt would still probably be the better bet though.

Just because a Cow points out that the 360 shares a game with a PC, it doesn't mean they automatically own a PC. It's just a very silly generalization people like to throw around.

Yes, in fact I do have a PC that can run games better than the 360/PS3 versions of game while still owning a PS3.

Here's the point: even if I didn't have this computer (and just a regular desktop), I know I have the option of either upgrading or waiting until I buy a new comp. Then the games are available to me. That upgrade/new computer purchase will happen sooner or later, so those games are just a matter of time. If I feel like dropping the cash now, I can or I can wait until prices are even lower. Buying a 360, while an option, is never required of me to experience those games. Want to play MGS4? Sony's your only option. Want to play Crysis? PC is your only option...ever.

ironic? ironic? ironic?

please refresh your vocabulary, as you really don;t know what you are talking about.

OMG a ps3 cost about $400, a "high end" pc could prolly cost at least $500(this is what you'll get in conversion from our country).

stop it stappy, you lem.

and to the TC, you prolly seem that way because, you are frustrated that you cant count some exclusives(now not: bioshock, gears of war1.....) to be part of an argument with some cows.

but in most cases, if someone has a ps3, most probably, that person would probably even have a pc that could run the some of the 360-pc port games. so it actually does make sense, that most cows argue here in SW, because they have a PC.

*i highly doubt that they'd be using the web browser form the ps3 cause that crap is totally bull.

[QUOTE="angelkimne"][QUOTE="mbrockway"]You don't need a high end pc to play a 360/pc multi at higher settings. My laptop plays Bioshock better than the 360, and you can buy a better video card than the 360/PS3 for like $100 now.whitey_rolls

Oh yeah? What's the res, gfx card and price?

You can buy a 9600GT for less htan $100.00 now on new egg and play at 1680 x 1050 pretty well any game out there maxed out except Crysis.

I doubt that.

They don't. And they never did. It's a silly generalisation that came about when Bioshock was first released. A number of cows said they could play it on their pc's, and suddenly everyone was saying all cows had high end gaming pc's.

I'm surprised it's still around today. I haven't heard a cow say anything like it since Bioshock.

Great that your laptop can run those types of games with no hiccups, but a lot can't. You missed the point I was trying to make, just because console exclusives may also be on pc doesn't also mean they are worthless and shouldn't be considered a plus on the 360s side.

i agree. i get very weary of that argument myself. besides, its obvious that MS will port a lot of titles to PC. its MS, after all

I don't have a high end pc, its just way to expensive, inconveneint, and in the end it doesn't have very many good games

Screw the pc, the ps3 and pc are not allies in the system war

It's pretty easy to get a laptop that can play bioshock/cod4 fine. any dual core cpu which is in 95% of new laptops is more than enough and a 8600m gt or radeon hd2600 will run basicily any game like the 360, but sure most laptops either have intel gma or 8400gs or lower which wont run games very well
