My 40GB PS3's fan gets really loud after playing GoW III for about 15-20 minutes, why does this happen? Is it normal or should I be worried? I thought that PS3's were "whisper quiet" :(

Thanks.

It's because the Cell enters a state of 20Ghz full SPE 8thcore unlocking hyperspeed, which needs the fan to run at over 200,000RPM just to keep it below 50 degrees, because of teh awesome graphics. :P

Doesn't the fan actually run at the speed of light? :P

Thats just what happens. God of War is a technologically demanding game. It takes a lot of computing power to run it. After fifteen minutes of play it makes sense that the fan would kick in in order to cool the components that are working so hard.

God of Warp 3 (Star Trek reference; IM A NERD!).

Think your ps3 is full of dust, or its not in a ventilated area. I have a 40gb model (with a 250gb HDD) and its super quiet. I honestly dont hear it.
