That's probably the biggest reason I don't care about Sony franchises. I like good multiplayer games and Playstation has always had very very few of those
Yup, they are not very good in that regard, especially for competitive tournaments.
That's the thing. People in this thread are listing literally any PS4 exclusive that has a tacked on MP/COOP like fucking Killzon and Uncharted, lmao. Even though no one plays that shit.
There is no PS4 exclusive that has a high concurrent MP or highly competitive MP. It has nothing like Halo 5 or SoT, not even remotely. PS4 is not the system you get for great online exclusives. Everyone knows by now PS4's exclusive are more singleplayer and cinematic focused "games".

Very true, which is why I own both systems. I enjoy them for their differences.
I've had fun playing KZ2 MP, Resistance 2, and GoW Ascension big time.
I understand the perception of it, I don't agree whole heartedly, I do think TLOU's MP was fun as was Uncharted 4's but I also LOL at using those as a defense then bashing something like Halo 5 not being as popular as the previous ones. Those MP wish there as unloved as Halo 5 LOL
Sony has their vision and it looks like a strong emphasis on dramatic, cinematic games. Nothing wrong with that.
It's not that Sony doesn't have MP games, they just have no GOOD/ROBUST/FLESHED OUT/POPULAR multiplayer games like Xbox/WiiU/PC all do. Uncharted 4 has quite possibly the worst MP this entire gen, it's extremely bare bones, tacked on and lazy and to no surprise is nearly dead online as 98% of it's player base the first 2 weeks ran off to Overwatch or went back to COD or Destiny. Now it's taking me up to 6 minutes to get into a game on average.
Then look at the rest of the trash, Street Fighter V, Drive Club and Killzone SF are all horrible games. TLOU was fun for about 2 hours but like Uncharted was extremely bare bones and tacked on and went the way of the dodo for most of it's player base, the game had no staying power and turned out to be an averageish MP component. Enough to get into a match but no where near the top 10 played games on that system.
Also I have to say
This is by far one of the weakest most laughable attempts at post launch DLC, Naughty Dogs should go take a look at what 343 and Popcap Games do, but the good thing is that there's so few players left on UC4 that ND won't disappoint very many people.
You need to look at the brands, Nintendo and especially Xbox are built around social gaming/playing with friends, in fact look at MS E3 where nearly every game they announced except for ReCore had co op and they announced new social features like LFG and Arena. Playstation has never been the console to play MP on. During the 6th gen people were having Smash Melee tournaments and 16 player Halo Lan parties with multiple Xbox's hooked up, PS2 never had anything like that. PS3 had some alright MP games like Resistance 2 and KZ2 but for some reason both series botched the 3rd installment and they never reached the levels that Nintendo and XB MP games did. Sony did have something that was pretty fleshed out and popular with Socom but holy crap did they botch that IP and now it's rotting in it's grave along with Zipper.
Sony sticks to what they do best, SP cinematic games which is all good and fine but I'm not paying $60 for a game I'll beat it 8-10 hours like Uncharted 4 and never play again. Thank God for Redbox and Gamefly.
Also considering how toxic and hateful the Playstation community is, it's probably best that they interact with others as little as possible.
PlayStation is for gamers who like cinematic single player experiences. Xbox and PC is for hardcore gamers who like competitive gameplay. Nintendo is for kids and 40 year old nostalgic neckbeards who like TLoZ. As long as you have fun, it doesn't matter which platform you game on.
The funniest thing is that the greatest console multiplayer game was actually developed by Sony, SOCOM 2. It rivals even the greatest PC multiplayer shooters like Counter Strike. I think they might re-release it for the PS4, it would be a great hit.
co op blows unless you can home network it...I looked into doing this a lot....in the end there no co op games....the PS TV looked great to do this as I have 2 controllers and I only need run a lan cable to the sun room...it be nice to do co op on a few games I thought, right.
as co op on a big tv blows chunks as you loose too much real estate on the tv.....ghosts has it and did it for like 10 mins and said this blows....
I looked at games and found not much....thing is sony saw what I saw...on 1 tv it blows.....you need 2 tv and a lan cable and most kids are not going to get dad to bang holes in walls just to hear kids screen from new rooms they don't want them in.....most dads put the box somewhere that screaming kids will sound less annoying..
last think dad want is that in STEREO.
you know they do reseach this stuff.
as for multiplayer what the FUK is this guy talking about....we share most the same guys and somehow on the 720 boner its better?
dude get a grip....
last thing I want is to multiplayer on the gimp system......
and with sony we can add an SDD......on the boner all you get is a sloopy ass usb cable...yea good luck with that.......I so wanna be even more slower on USB.
I prefer solo experience which is why prefer Sony exclusives. Third party provides me with enough multiplayer games.
because they started charging for online play but are relying on multiplats for the online modes.
imagine an online SOCOM game again.
where is the Ace Combat we were promised? AC was a playstation exclusive at one time, yet last gen the x360 got an exclusive ace combat with multiplayer mode too!
Uncharted 4 MP mode definitely feels tacked on and i'd had enough of it after about 3 hours.
Meanwhile xbox gamers have games like halo, gears, forza MS / Horizon all of which have superb MP modes. there are of course other games with MP too. but Fact is most of the MS games shown at E3 were shown to have MP modes and some even cross play with other systems.
yet the sony ones concentrated on SP types. I personally prefer SP games, but i do enjoy games with Good online modes. so whilst i pay sony for PS+ for the occasional game of star wars battlefront, i dont think i get my moneys worth and the free games from both have been lol at best.
@Salt_The_Fries is absolutely right to wonder wtf they are playing at.
lol Deja vu....
It me or this same crappy thread was done by the same crappy poster and you say exactly the same crappy excuse.?
Hey Warriors =)
I was recently thinking how many of Sony flagship games are memorable for their focus on single player experiences but what about multiplayer portions?
What co-op / competitive modes from which Sony exclusive games stuck in your head the longest?
Can't recall any memorable multiplayer experiences on any sony consoles i've owned.
it is ironic that sony start charging for online play now, but has no stand out MP games.
The order 1886 could have had a co-op mode / wave mode.
Nathan Drake collection takes out the MP.
the best online experience on PS4 will be SW battlefront IMO, my copy has arrived, going to get on it later.

Salt the fries is a spambot...lol
And you fallow him....lol
What does sony charging for online play has to do with anything.?
Also DC,Killzone,Uncharted 4,LBP3,Hell divers and many others have online modes.
Ace combat is not a sony game and if we count those we most count 3rd party exclusives which also have multiplayer.
Oh the xbox has Halo gear and forza the same shit all over again from last gen which has being down sales wise and score wise in all its chapters.?
A better question would be would the xbox one get a damn exclusive game over 90 on metacritic this gen.? The xbox 360 had like 8 by this point in time back then, but i guess you forgot about that already because back then by your own words you liked more multiplatforms..lol
@kvally: yea I so wanna go out and blow $150 on a controller with paddles....or $200 on one with cool colors just so phil can have golden parachute when sunsung buys xbox.
but I want to look like I am a pro gramer mom....its only $150....we don't need heat this winter.
wow it must be so nice to be ELITE......can I be special like you too.
I guess that why all you people game at 720p anyway...lol
cause you the pro's
10 seconds off the top of my head...
Alienation, a game only available on ps4 is a better coop experience than anything on the Xbox one to date, bar none.
Enter the Gungeon - amazing coop
Salt and sanctuary - amazing coop
These games came out only over the past few months.
Gaming with friends on playstation is very much alive and well, if you're looking for the right games.
There's no point when all the most popular multiplayer games are already on their platform. Halo and Gears are not as popular as CoD, Battlefield or Destiny even if you only count the Xbone versions. Single player experiences can bring in a different audience though. That's why PS4 sells more because the library of games ticks more boxes.
@ermacness: that's already 3 more than sony.
Sony clearly have at lease 3 MP games on the ps4, however sony's not trying to have an uphill battle seeing that in certain genres (especially shooters) multiplats reign supreme. Halo 5"s struggle to be relevant is a complete example of this.

not of that caliber. halo 5 hasn't struggled. its doing well. as well as past halo games? no but still better than any other console exclusive.
Twisted Metal, Socom or Motorstorm ground up on ps4 and Sony has my money. But they have it for Days Gone.
Alienation, Helldivers, Salt and Sanctuary and the plethora of multiplats that have co op/multiplayer. Ignorance is not bliss people.
It's not just Sony who suck at providing co-op. Nintendo and indies are pretty much the only ones who still understand playing with friends in the same room is fun. It's pretty sad. A healthy mix of all kinds of different games is always good. Sony seems to be happy by having about 1 type of game which is single-player, scripted, story heavy games. Aka, crap.
@jg4xchamp: It's flooded with "teh emotional" or "teh cinematic" experiences more than anything else these days.
De Ja Vu? no, more like you are experiencing mad cow disease. Its not my fault that you are so obsessed with what others say on an internet forum. standing by own opinion sometime later should not come as a shock to you eltormo.
Salt the fries is on my friends list and we have gamed together before.
Sony now charges for online play, yet some of their big games don't have MP modes. they had more MP focused games last gen, yes there are games with online, but some big titles are missing a trick, there is no denying it. I pay for PS+ at the moment because i play the occasional game of SW battlefront. I do not subscribe to GOLD at the moment.
Ace combat was exclusive to playstation until last gen where they released a single exclusive on the 360 and then went multiplatform. now they say there is another in development which is great for me, but not if its just a dumb PSVR "experience". yes you can count third party exclusives if you want, not sure why you wouldn't want to anyway.
Halo and forza, yes, but they have excellent online modes, which lets face it is why people buy them. I may get Forza horizon 3 this year as its guaranteed fun and is set in australia a country i love.
I don't care about metacritic scores, i play the games i want and enjoy them regardless of what young inexperienced reviewers say about them. yes, i still very much prefer single player experiences and i play more multiplats than exclusive since they are generally the better games in my opinion.
No is a Deja Vu i linked your ass saying the same stupid shit on another thread which this one is a clone of by the same poster..lol
Were it take one to know one..lol
So because sony is charging for online play some how all sony games most have online modes.? Hahahahaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa
Where in hell did you get those sad arguments bro, seriously last gen they had free online play and had more games with online servers than live didn't see you cry about it all the contrary you didn't care didn't own a PS3 and continue to get rip off by MS.
So if you are so interested in getting back what you invest, yeah last gen you should have been with sony instead of MS,because you know sony gave you more FREE.
Ace combat was an exclusive is not any more and wasn't a FIRST party exclusive is not a sony game which is what salt the fries is talking about,so basically you bring an irrelevant series to the argument.
Yes and less and less people buy them, regardless more people owning an XBO relative to what the 360 had in the same time frame, which mean those games are not appealing to xbox gamers like they use to,specially Halo which has experiment the biggest drop.
Sure you don't care about score..

@I_can_haz said:Whoa, it's dropping on metacritic lol. Still a good game though but not revolutionary like lems hoped. Same thing I thought after I played the beta. Will get it as soon as it drops to $20 on Origin.
dont be a titanfool. the reviews say othewise, game feels new and fresh. it's the multiplayer game of the year and we're only in March.
unless destiny brings something really magic, every other shooter is going to feel so dull
@sts106mat said:
you are an unfunny cock dude. just piss off and let people talk about the reviews

and you are a titanfool. The game was hyped AAA at Gamespot, hype met.
Oh wait, are these official sources, the ones you just claimed over-rated everything
god, this kid is pathetic.

The only moment you don't care about scores is when don't freaking go your way,and that is from the titanfall thread alone,i see you clear as day there defending Titanfall score and telling people to let others talk about the scores..lol
@Salt_The_Fries: Because then they would be catering to you and your ilk and getting their ass kicked worldwide in sales.
Should Sony follow your set out plan for them?
Besides, they actually do have MP games (TLOU is an incredibly MP experience, not that you'd know as it's on PS), but you simply aren't looking at them.
Also, and most importantly:
Sony not forcing their devs to include multiplayer for the sake of it is a good thing. Developers should make their games as they envision them.
Come on man. I have TLOU and i played the UC4 MP, ND doesn't do good MP

Huh? C'mon dude.
This is oooold hat.
If you don't want to believe my many hours with the MP, or bother believing the critics or fellow gamers that actually put in time in the fantastic MP, well there is nothing I can say other than you have an opinion but it doesn't seem researched well at all.
Did you even read the fantastic MP TLOUS reviews or give the MP game a fair shake (putting in a few hours)? It's clear we all have different opinions, but the face value of your statement is clearly false. One man's Minecraft is another man's GTA.
It's actually well noted by critics and actual gamers that actually took the time and gave TLOU MP a chance that TLOU has fantastic MP. Not good, Great. I certainly didn't EXPECT it as the SP was amazing, but in getting the Platinum for TLOU I was forced to check out the underrated MP and wow what a fantastic MP game (and I play just about all the big MP games from every single Halo online, every single GeoW, Doom, Starcraft, Street Fighter, Battlefield, Titanfall, COD, etc.).
Just in case, since I covered this a few times here in SW, here's an old link to TLOU MP...
I wrote this last year on the TLOU in SW subject:
The Multiplayer is amazing. A lot of people don't even know because the SP is soo good, they guess the MP is just tacked on. They are wrong.
Surprisingly, The Last of Us has a fantastic Multiplayer but the SPECTACULAR MP is overlooked due to the SP being a near masterpiece...but to be honest the MP is amazing.
Here's a review of just TLOU MP. There's a lot of reviews singing praise for the game's MP, here's just one short 3 minute video.
Why The Last of Us' Multiplayer Is Awesome:
There is a link to an article above, including also a video covering TLOU MP.
That would be like me saying GeoW has terrible MP. I would never say that.
Here's another video that covers the TLOU MP from a PC-centric MP gamer (SW poster seanmcloughlin, who went on to be a youtube sensation jacksepticeye) someone that thought the TLOU MP wasn't going to be notworthy, and like many others just skipped out on the MP entirely on the PS3.
He never bothered playing the MP on the PS3 version, but gave the TLOU MP a chance on PS4 after hearing many gamers being incredibly impressed with TLOU MP, and he came away from the experience singing nothing but praises. I'll post his video as well.
12 minute mark: "I suggest the TLOU MP is sooooo much better than I thought it was." He never bothered to check it out as he assumed, much like you, that the competitive MP was going to be tacked on and lame as the SP was fantastic from Naughty Dog.
I can reflect on my time with hundreds of MP games over the last two decades and I know TLOU MP is amazing. I know the critics also came to the same conclusion. Sorry, but your non cited opinion doesn't disprove anything, especially as we both know where you frequently side with in SW since you arrived in 2013.
I get it though, there are always going to be salty fries and lem friends that are going to post nonsense with no backing. There is no point though, let's just stop wasting time.
Besides, there are far other PS games MP games that prove the salty lemming of this thread is going to be biased as that's his whole thing (oppressed Polish gamer with a hard on for PS fans due to his cultural upbringing).

@Salt_The_Fries: you can safely ignore all "teh emotional" and "teh cinematic" games on playstation, save hundreds, if not thousands of dollars a year, and play games that are far far better than the games Sony chooses to market heavily as flagship games.
Theyre going to push the games they made the biggest monetary investments in, just like every other company, but marketing is all talk and just because some games are less visible doesn't mean they don't add to the quality of a platform.
Ive knocked Sony for many a thing over the years... And in my opinion, deservedly so. I can only toss praise at their ability to diversify between big cinematic experiences (games of which I don't care for) and highly gameplay focused SP and MP experiences that absolutely encourage playing together both online and offline.
I'm honestly glad they don't, more games that I'm interested in for me to play. Let the third parties take care of the worthless multiplayer and co-op games. Stop trying to shoehorn that shit in with 'connectivity', I'm looking at you Ubisoft.
Why would TC care any way? He is anti playstation as far as I remember!
Exactly.
mhmm.

Salty? Salty about what?
The MP is terrible, Most reviews didn't even mention the MP portion of teh game at all. It was a laggy unbalanced mess. and lets not forget the tactical shotgun that was stupidly strong and not included in the season pass and cost an extra 5 bucks. I had a friend rage because everyone one was using it and he went out and brought it so he wasn't left out. The game play sucks, their policies are even worse when it comes to balance and paid DLC (locking one of the best weapons behind a paywall? WTF) and the P2P nature of the game makes it way too much of a laggy mess for me to ever enjoy. But even without that, it's still boring poop. Sure you might enjoy it and some you tubers, but lets not pretend the MP was universally praised, because it wasn't. It's just as bad as UC and TR multiplayers. And yes I gave it a fair shake of about 20 hours cause I played it with some really cool friends of mine who really wanted me to like it because they do and play a lot, but their standards are just super low and the MP was terrible.
and then listing 3 indie games not even made by sony with co-op doesn't count. Why not have PvP and co-op in horizon? Or Spiderman? Or Days gone? Where is sony's overwatch, r state of decay, or dying light, or Dead rising, or halo, or gears, or scalebound, well I think you get the point.
