Why hype MGS4?

Why do so many people believe that MGS4 will be a AAA lock?  I know it will be a good game, but AAA?  MGS for the PS scored 8.5, MGS2 scored 9.6, and MGS3 scored 8.7.  Only one in the series is AAA.

If you want to include all MGS games for every system, there still are more AA than AAA. I think the whole substance thing is a slap in the face to fans. They include a lot of extra content in the game that should have been there in the first place. How many people actually spent anouther $50 a year or more later for the substance game.zaney

So you payed $50 for MGS, then $30 for your free multiplayer.  There were some extras, no doubt, but in my opinion not enough to pay $80 for.  That's Konami getting the best of you.

I owned MGS2 substance for the Xbox and MGS3 snake eater for the PS2.  I don't recall getting any of the older games in the substance version, the extras were pretty much training/simulator type missions.  I didn't own Subsistence, so I don't know what was in it.

first of, i dont care what this site gives it, it's the best series to me (that and RE)   :)

second of all, aside from the gameplay it's one of the series that really have a great story that does not insault the intelegence of the player by a half @ss story like "ohh, bad guys taking over, lets fight them"

Because its a worth while hype. Sony will show their promise like they always do. Oh and, just because GS says its not AAA doesnt mean it isnt.trav_have

Metal Gear is the best series in gaming history. best storyline. if anyone says different they are just to dense to understand it. and it may be movie like but that is what helps build a great story. Best characters. Yea, even Raiden. too many people were offended by the switch. Kojima took a chance and it flopped for some reason. he admitted he was wrong and gave us Raikov to do whatever our sadistic desires told us to. Gest gameplay. while people may complain about realism, think about this, would you rather have a stealth simulator or just a fun, long lasting game with an amazing story?

It's amazing. Theres no beating it. im just dissapointed that ill never get to work with kojima in my lifetime.

BTW im not stating that this is FACT. im just making opinions i believe to be true

thats cause gamespot is unfair to metal gear solid. everybody knows that metal gear solid one deserves way better. and im sorry if garbage like god of war and god of war 2 will score -9.3s or better than MGS 4 will put up a 9.5 or better. its just that awesome. jg4xchamp
