Teh Wii will fail ..........
Waggle Control Confirmed on the next 3 Nintendo Consoles. Why I don't care who wins the next 2 generations:
Sega Dreamcast "lost" the last gen, and yet it is still very fun to play. Some people over-hype it, but it was still extremely fun. There was no action/adventure game on the PS2 or XBOX that could match the charm of Shenmue.
Nintendo isn't going out of business anytime soon, and they proved that they can stay strong, even after coming in third last gen with their Gamecube.

Um....Wii price drop?
Don't cows and lems always argue about "how cheaply made teh Wii is! u are being ripped off by Nintendo!"?
Nintendo is in the best position right now to drop its price if it wanted to, since the Wii has the highest profit margin.
They're in a great position, I think the only way they could screw up would be to not straighten up the quality of third party games, find some way to delay ALL their 1st/2nd party games.
and saying the Wii has a non-existant online and no third party support is retarded...Flipnblack
Â
Nintendo can **** around with the sucess of the Wii just because of the DS. Â

NIntendo is working hard on their online....So far we know that Mario Soccer, Pokemon, Mario/Sonic game and Nights are all online games. Also with the IGN podcast they said that Nintendo is starting to make their Online their main priority where before it was not a big deal.
And again most of the casuals could care less about graphics.........
But I do think number 1 is either going to be the PS3 or the Wii and then comming in a close last is going to be the 360

Historically, "story" games don't sell systems. Fast, intense, action games sell systems. So FF XIII is probably not going to be a system seller.
GT5 is a car racing game, which many consider to be a "casual" game, and most casuals are buying Wiis right now. No hardcore gamer is going to buy a PS3 simply because it has a nice racing game.
MGS4 will be awesome, but it won't sell systems, either. It is a very complex game that doesn't really fall under the "fast, intense, action game" category. Saying that MGS4 will sell PS3s is like saying that Jade Empire 2 (if it even exists) will sell 360. Both fun games. Both NOT system sellers.
Of course it's easy to predict the outcome of such a fickle industry in the next ten years.
Because we've all done such a fantastic job of predicting this generation, right?

The Final Fantasy series is one of the most popular worldwide in terms of sales and critical acclaim. to say that it won't sell systems is ridiculous. FFXII has already sold about 5 million copies worldwide and FFX has sold about 8 million
And to say that MGS4 won't sell systems is also insane.  Metal Gear 2 sold about 5.5 million copies and MGS3 sold about 4 million copies.
I can't understand why anyone would think that these two games would not sell systems..........I mean jeez, FFXII has been out for what, 6 months? And it's sold 5 million already. Halo 1 sold about 6.5 million and it's been out for 6 years. To say that FF and MGS aren't system sellers is false

No, it's quite correct. Sales numbers of individual games does not necessarily reflect that it is "selling" a system. And if sales numbers mattered, we would have seen millions of people buying a new PC because of The Sims franchise...oh wait, they already HAD computers. Millions of people bought FF, true, but many MANY of those people already owned a PSOne or PS2.
You simply don't understand the video game market.

IF FF and MGS meant nothing in terms of sales.......then why do people in here argue ALL the time over them. Everytime you ask some1 "why are you getting a ps3"......it's "oh because I want to play MGS4 and FFXIII". Those are the two games practically every owner sites as a reason which they own the PS3.

Exactly People in the US and especially in JAPAN go APE **** over FF12 and FF13. And everyone I know and everyone else. Not getting a PS3 til MGS4 hits.

"everyone you know" are probably all gamers. That doesn't mean the game will "sell systems".
Again, how many people bought a PS2 just to play FFX, and how many people that ALREADY OWNED the PS2 bought FFX?

Yeah, those people ALREADY OWN the PS3. You just said it yourself. That doesn't make those games system sellers when they are released.
I don't even know why this matters so much. Just because a game isn't a "system seller" doesn't mean it will be a crap game. And just because a game IS a system seller doesn't make it an amazing game.
For example? Wii sports. System seller: yes. Amazing game: arguable, but it will be overshadowed by other Wii games quite soon.

People bought the systems to play those 2Â games.........how does that not make them a system seller. :|
Also people who have not yet bought the PS3 and are waiting to pick buy it, are waiting for one of these games to be released.

seems like hardly any hardcores buy wiis. all the people i know who have them are those little kids taht buy games no matter if they suck. all my friends who have wiis also have a 360 or a PS3. since the wii is more of a "get if you want to have fun for an hour and get bored and go back to a better system" type of console.
My bet is 360 all the way.-Halo 3, Crackdown, Gears of War...

God I hope not...........and for all those reasons you mentioned.
Third party is expanding for the WII.Many of these companies were caught by surprise by the WII's fast start.Expect them to start cranking out games by the end of the year.Online gaming for the WII will be huge by the end of the year thanks to MS for making this essential to the industry.poptart28
Great......"lets crank out some games".....Those are sure to be awesome
And this is the approach all devs are gonna take and are taking with the Wii.
