1. Advertising it- The controller won't be on the media like the wii because it is doing what the wii has already done. Since the wii got some of it's sales from some major news shows like CNN, The Today show, Good morning America, etc. The casual market won't even know that it is out except if it is on a T.V ad, but I doubt that Microsoft would spend money on an advertisement for an add on. I don't remember seeing that many ads for it's own system at least Nintendo had a couple of ads that I can remember of.

2. Games- Microsoft will have to make a new game that isn't golfing, boxing, base ball, or tennis, because when a non gamer looks at Xbox sports and then Wii Sport they will see no difference. It doesn't matter how much more advanced it is compared to Wii sports it will not sell the system or the controller for a higher price. Casual gamers with a Wii won't go over to the Xbox because they will say they already have that. People thinking that Banjo Kazooie would sell the system are wrong, the reason being that most casual gamers are adults and when they see something like Banjo Kazooie they will think it's something for kids. It might sell some systems for their kids, but it won't sell as much as the Wii has.

3. Developers- Third party developers will view this new controller as risk and not make games for it or third party developers will make the games that have both the regular controller and the new motion controller in which will make most people think why would they need to use the new motion controller when I already have a controller I can use for the game. People will say why isn't the same case true for the Wii if you can use the gamecube controller, but that it is true for the Wii because mostly people who played brawl usually use the gamecube controller. The exception is that their is a few game that have those option and the wiimote comes with the Wii and not the gamecube controller. The opposite is true for the Xbox 360 because it will most likely not come with system while the regular one does. Microsoft will fail because it probably won't bundle it with Xbox 360 and even if they did that would only increase the price for the system making more people turned of, because 350 dollars is not a turn on.

I am not a fanboy, in fact I would glad if that motion controller would sell, but I see it unlikely on less they do something completely new with it.

I don't want more motion controls. Wii is fine, but I'd rather just use a gamepad.

It can suceed, IF they force it with high profile games as the only way to play them. This will force motion controllers into homes, and allow support.

But then they're just milking you..really badly.

well if they back the controller up with some party games (ala Wii), it might create some interest... afterall its all about games which will utilise its features that will determine its success or failure...

It won't be a success for them this generation. Something like that, you need to package it with the system so the developers know EVERYONE has it. That is why Nintendo was wise enough to include the nunchuk as well.

Nintendo has the buzz, did wii remote really well, and has a more consumer accessible system.

I mean I don't even know why they are bothering. I mean its a good idea to implement it into the system to try to hopefully gain some future Wii customers that are sitting on the sidelines, but this just doesn't fit the 360 at all. I really don't want motion controls to be honest. Are they cool? Yes, but if I wanted them bad enough I would have just gotten a Wii.

Me neither man. It's so ironic that the 360 pad is boasted as the best controller by some and here MS might try to change it...

I really hope they dont change their ways. Ya know, if they want a "casual" market, that's fine, but I hope they dont force me to stare at a Mii during online games of Gears of War 2. I just worry if they turn their focus to casual games, that it will take away from their "hardcore" games.

And the customer asks the price and say WTF? And the worker will say

"Well, you pay for better graphics on online."

"I want to play it. Not hang it on my wall. Online is free, right?"

"Sort of."

"What do you mean 'Sort of.'"

"50 bucks a year. But it does have 3 year warranty!"

"3 years! Wow! Why don't the others have a such a great warranty?"

"Well, they don't really need it...[insert long explanation of RROD]"

"Ehh, maybe i will take the Wii"

"You sure? 360 is like, better all around... Plus it doesn't have those gimmicky cont...oh wait. Forget that. They are not gimmicky anymore since 360 has them..."

"Nah, thats ok. Besides, Mario Kart Online is pretty darn good. Ring it up."

"Well, I can't. I don't have any in stock..."

And yes, you are probably right. 360 will sell because Wii's still aren't in stock

Except I didn't say I was talking about Europe, did I?

Except that the arcade is cheaper is not the norm, is it?

Except its more expensive in other places, like the United States

Except if you purchase Live 12 month subscription with Arcade in Europe, it ISN'T cheaper

Except the price of 360 Arcade with 'gimmicky' controllers hasn't been release yet, has it?

phail.
