Why I think most do not "Get" The Nintnedo Popularity Its all in the N

First off I own every system since Atari 2600-Ps3 and I love all systmes for Different reasons and am a BIG nintendo fan. I hear so much nintendo bashing on this sight and It always makes me laugh but the other day some kid at gamestop totally put in into prespective for me.

He was i guess 16 or 17ish and I said that I'm excited to get Final Fantasy 14 when it hits on Ps3 and that I hope it comes out on the 360 too so 360 owners will get to play cause final fantasy 11 is on 360. The Guy was like "No its only gonna be on Ps3 and it should be that way cause Final Fantasy hasALWAYS been a Sony Game Series. Microsoft and Nintendo are trying to steal Final Fantasy games from Sony but they belong with Sony."

This statment really cleared alot up for me. Wow i thought to myself youngsters really do not get it and its not really their fault. I'm 30 so I am old enough to know and have played games since atari when they were actaully comming out new. I bought Final Fantasy 1 on day one when it was brand new and it was not on a Sony System at all (I know weird huh?) I was there in Line when Zelda 1 hit, and when Mario Bros 3 rocked the world bigtime. I was Amazed at Metroid 1 on the Nes, and again with Mega Man 1.

We got to fight our was through Dragon Quest 1 On the Nes, and Discover the Birth of Metal Gear On Nintendo. Bionic Comando is good on new systems, but the original when i was first out is a Ninendo cart and boy was it a tough one. You like Ninja Gaiden? Born and raised on Ninendo. Castelvania on Nes was a sight to behold on day one.

RPG anyone? You think todays games are great? Imagine1995 opening up Chrono Trigger for the first time. The visuals and the Music were legendary. You like Street fighter? Nintendo First. Football? Tecmo Bowl was amazing. Nintendo Provided gamers with countless amazing moments long before others even thought about it.

I could go on and on forever but my point is thatall you have to doto really know and AppreciateNintendos success and why people love it isto understand what they have always brought to the table. Nintendo is Video games. I realize if your between age 10-20 that you may not get that, but do a little homework and remove the fan boy goggles and know that Nintendo has had more big game moments in Video game history than Sony and Microsoft Combined and Yes i know that its not a fair comparassion and that is my point exactly.

Note to fanboys: This Generation i rank Ds>360>Ps3=Wii>Psp (The only System i HATE is the psp and only cause its a Ps2 port Dump more than a system)

I agree that many Wii owners are old-school Nintendo fans, and that word-of-mouth promotion has propelled the Wii to it's current success.

Yeah im one of those (although I would not mind seeing Mario im Halo 4 with a Snipper Riffle!) Mario with 10x zoom now thats a instant win!

lol thanks english is my second language so sometimes my spelling is less than perfect but i feel that I get by alright :)

im 33 and started with the oddessy 2 in 79 and the 2600 in 82, and an apple 2 in 82. I have been gaming for a long time. I agree that Nintendo had lots of great moments during their life time. The NES era was great and introduced alot of franchises that are still popular today. The best gen was the Battle between the SNES and Genesis I owned both and loved my genesis but late in the life cycle of the two systems the SNES's power gave it the victory. However The N64 and PSone wa the generation where games made their most significant leap. What we play now anre just upgraded experiences from that era. The N64 was great but could not live up to the legend of the SNES. Mario64 may have been the biggest leap any game series ever made. However its library could not measure up the the PSone. The cube was a joke and the wii (I got my at launch) ma be the worst nintendo system ever. Nintendo's quality have been dropping lower with each gen. their first party games on the NES crush anything we've seen on the wii. nintendo deserves their props like mike tyson but they are now a joke like mike tyson. The reson their is so much hate is that nintendo is not nearly as great as they once were. Once upon a time nintendo spoke to me, now the speak to my parents and im 33.
