Im forcing myself to play though part1 before I play Bioshock 2. The only cool thing about is hacking the flying gun machines and having 2 fight with you.

The story is OK. But its dumb how you put a gorilla in a scuba suit with a kid on its back. The guns are lame. Im sure there was a M16 back in 1959 but theres not. I cant be the only one who thinks this game is not any fun

If you don't like it, you shouldn't play it. It's that simple.

If you paid attention to all of the recordings you would get a better understanding of everything. Also, the M16 was designed in '57, but didn't start production until 1960.

I always thught Hitman was pretty lame, but that's a personal thing. I love stealth games, and I loved the vibe of those games, but I didn't dig the gameplay. I much favored Thief. Yet you like the Hitman.

I'm thinking this is the same thing here. The difference, however, is that I don't make threads about it.

Remember, personal tastes always vary and we all can't like the same thing.

Don't force yourself to play through a game you don't enjoy. Unless you're a completionist and can't leave it alone unfinished.

Reasons to play Bioshock: 1. Story is unique and actually intelligent for a fps and video games in general. 2. Atmosphere. There is no other setting in video games that compares to Rapture. 3. Combat has some rpg depth. 4. Crazy stuff you can do like throw bees at an enemy and while a bot you hacked attacks them and then shoot them with a shotgun that can shock them with electricity.

I love the defensive segments of Bioshock games. It's awesome to set out a plan and lay out all your traps when attacking a Big Daddy, prepare for the harvest, or waiting for Big Sister to come.

Bioshock is one of the best FPSs Ive ever played in terms of graphics, gameplay and story. The story in that game is better than most movie story lines, very solid, suspensful and has an amazing twist. To bad you dont feel that way, I dont see how you could think its a bad game.

If you don't like the game, then don't play it.

Also, Big Daddies are not gorrilas!

I love the game because it has the best atmosphere ever. Plus the story is one of the best.

I haven't played MW2, but how exactly do you need brains to play bioshock? As I recall all I did was shoot guys with a million billion bullets until they died, and occasionally used a plasmid when they did something retarded like jump in a pool or run around in a puddle of oil. And there was no penalty for dying so you could just mindlessly run at something until it died.

I think he ment that Bioshock actually has a story that makes you think...not only that but theres some strategy on how you can go about killing people. Set some electric traps, piss of a big daddy, make him run threw them, watch him die, lol. While in MW2 your just mindlessly killing people, lol. But thats just what that game is about, all war games are basically.

So your telling me your forcing yourself to play it; all the while missing the atmosphere and freakin plot? Like nothing about it interests you? Well then maybe MW2 is more your game. That might be what he is implying. Mainly because in MW2 you run around shooting the same guys until they die cause there is no penalty for dieing.........

If you did not like the game I don't believe you would be playing it still either......

or maybe your favorite type of games are the ones you hate the most?

We could never be friends in real life.

Well.....its not that you need brains to play BS. Its just you have alot of options to get through the game with. If you prefer to just use guns you can. If you prefer to shoot a guy in the water after setting them on fire only to electrify them to death; you can do that too. Its options.......open your mind.

WAIT A MIN. After all that stuff I just freakin typed; you got THAT statement out of it? I was just being a jerk. Of course we could be Friends. What I'm highly curious about is why you don't seem to immerse yourself in the Rapture world. Its beautiful and you have all these powers to play around with. Yea I picked up on that,
Andrew Ryan says in his speech that it was shot down to bring you back to rapture.
I had no problems with the atmosphere and story, I just thought the gameplay was disappointing, especially the gunplay.

Bingo that's exactly what I meant. Bioshock is also a much more satisfying game when you play w/o vita chambers. You have to use strategy in approaching enemies especially powerful ones like Big Daddies. Bioshock is a "thinking man's shooter" and not a mindless run-and-gun like MW2.

Ok you try harvesting adam and relying on just your guns. Try taking down a Big Sis without preparing a defense. Try taking out a Big Daddy without dying.

I'm actually with the TC for the most part; I bought the first game day 1, but got bored before I finished it. Now with the second out I want to get the full story of the first, but I have the feeling the same thing would happen. Yes it's atmospheric, creepy, etc but I found the combat a snooze fest, and since that's pretty much all you do..../shrug.

Be that as it may. I don't like Bioshock.... I honestly did not understand how people enjoyed that game. I seem to be part of the minority here, but i really don't understand what made people go " OMG " about bioshock... The only thing i liked was the pretty water.. other than that the game felt broken. After a playthrough and a half. lol. OP, you're not alone.

I'm sorry that Bioshock actually takes some brains to play unlike MW2.

Story, atmosphere, and interesting combat possibilities.

Nope sorry http://world.guns.ru/assault/as18-e.htm Anyways why are you forcing yourself to play the game? The secondone is just more of the first really, so I don't your point in getting through the first one to play the second :?

What thinking? :?, you throw down a couple of mini turrets, throw a bunch of trap bolts, proximity mines on the ground, purposely fail a hack to lure out the gun turrets, hack them, and shut the alarm down then you are set . Hell, once you get level 2 Winter Blast you are practically invincible or the plasmid that regenrate hp + eve while standing in water, you could spam plasmids with it. Yes I am playing it without Vita Chamber right now on hard

I agree i installed it like 3 times played about 40min max the story is dumb the gunz etc are lame. Looks crappy and sounds crappy. But its a matter of opinion some will always hate a game and other will love it.

You think the story is dumb after playing for 40 minutes...? I'm sorry but that's nowhere near enough time to form an informed opinion about any game's story.

Everyone has their opinion but BioShock has a great story, this is not debatable really, in a genre where for the most part your story is grunt #1 trying to take out Alpha baddie anything that steers away from the norm is a breath of fresh air (Because the norm quite frankly sucks).

I actually LOL'd, but what you just used is something called "Strategy" and requires something called "Thought" something you just said BioShock has none of, what he meant was that you don't just run in a blast away, which is the exact opposite of your scenario, you obviously used planning, deception, and traps to kill your enemies; Not run and gun.
