Why is Crysis 2 suddenly a superb game?

I don't know. Doh! I'm a bit stupid... Doh! I just am a bit too stupid to understand why Crysis 2 all of the sudden is a superb game. Ever since a thing... Jeez I don't know the name. I'm to stupid to know!. I heard it was bad according to most elitest gamers *cough*. All of the sudden I keep hearing these damm great comments from it. DOh!

You're just hearing about the graphics, which are mighty impressive now. Too bad the graphics can't save the god-awful game.

I haven't seen anyone change their mind about the game after the DX11 patch if that's what you're insinuating.

Most people were complaining about the game not beating the originak crysis in graphics.Now since crytex fixed that complant with the texture pack and DX11 tools for the game not that many people are complaining anymore.

I personally enjoyed it but opinions differ.

People are just suddenly saying that is superb when it comes to graphics that's all. The game is still the same.

The DX11 patch has made the game good

Crysis modded looks far more appealing to me.

Generic COD clone with an wonderful graphics engine, that's it.

The mp is too much "cloaked" for my taste.

The attitude towards the game has been the same, ranging from crappy, to disappointing, to moderately good. It is just the graphics that got top of the line.

It was never a terrible game, many people were just annoyed that is was a step back from Crysis. If it wasn't made by Crytek people wouldn't have the high expectations and they'd say that honestly it's a pretty good game.

I enjoyed Duke Nukem Forever more. Not trying to say that Crysis 2 is that bad of a game, but DNF is an 8.0 in my eyes and Crysis 2 is about 6-7. I've had just a bit more fun with it than Halo Reach, which was almost no fun.

Well, there's something we can agree on. Halo Reach sucks.

I know you were trying to be funny in your opening post but you aren't very good at it, games will always get attention when they get an update and with the possibility of mods now on the horizon the game can only get better. Besides which this board is all about graphics anyway so the further the DX11 patch distances Crysis 2 from its console counterparts the more it was bound to be mentioned.

i don't think the game was that bad to begin with, people were just annoyed because it didn't match up to the original.

the dx11 patch did solve some of that, but the gameplay is still crap.

It was never a bad game. The PC fanboys may have hated on it for it for not being a copy and paste of the first Crysis in the same setting and location with no changes to the gameplay at all, but don't listen to them. It was a very good game. It may not be as good as the first game, but it's still extremely enjoyable, it actually runs on hardware this time, and if you have a console you can play it.

The only massive step backwards was the multiplayer where they blatently copied CoD and made it so the multiplayer gets boring really fast.
