Everyone is saying their games are expensive, yet I bought their best game for just $8 bucks. Can someone explain it to me?

Because they're milking the Call of Duty franchise to the point where CoD tie-ins with other franchises doesn't sound far-fetched. In fact, I think i should predict Call of Duty: One Year War with pre-order bonuses involving mobile suits from Gundam 00!

i would so buy a cod based on the universal century 0079-0083 gundam timeline! 8)
Who hates them for the price they put on their games:?
It seems to me that most people hate them because of a certain game franchise known as Call of Duty
And for the certain fact that their CEO is the devil himself :P
psn8214
I just finished watching the entire series. :P The best thing I've ever seen on TV.
I agree it was pretty awesome. Especially the finale. You mean evol
Eminem reference lol
Because they're evuuullll...Evuuulll!!!

Because Kotick is always either clueless or trolling.
Because Call of Duty is overrated and people obsess over it for no reason
Because they milked a series like Guitar Hero and then killed it overnight
Because the only thing they make money off of anymore is Call of Duty
Because Kotick is smug andirrationally believes everything he says and does should be loved and accepted by gamers
I pressume you bought MW2 off steam. activision doesnt set up the price, steam does, if activision could, you can be 100% sure the game would cost 300 dollars. we hate them because they love to kill great franchises by milking them, and denying existance to potential great franchises if they cannot be milkedEveryone is saying their games are expensive, yet I bought their best game for just $8 bucks. They're on top and make a few eay to hate remarks and decisions, but overall they're just the new EA.
By new EA, I mean if you remember when EA was hated for buying everything and not putting out too many great games other then a couple or so.
Of course Activision still puts out some amazing games (Singularity was vastly underrated in my opinion), but people just tend to ignore that to remember the IW controversy and the high priced packs. Other then that though, Activision is a fine business by my standards and not nearly as greedy as EA.
This has something to do with it for me and the other is they are destroying WoW...probably because their ceo publicly said he wants to milk every one for more money plus shutting down loads of game studios...
Santesyu
lol modern trends are behind what WoW is becoming, not Activision.

And people like you tend to ignore what Activision has done.
But man, can't front.. everytime i think about it, Ice T's words just keep poping in my mind. It really is stupid to hate or love or whatever a company that's unaware of your existance. Until it goes to far, and affects you, ofcourse. Activision literally killed Tony Hawk & Guitar Hero by milking them dry. So what, right?
Because Kotick is evil and greedy. Plus they want 15 bucks for a map pack which is just ridiculous when I could buy 3 aracade games for that price on XBLA or PSN.
because they milk franchises dry with yearly releases (or even less) that have no improvement over the last, then cast them aside. they have absolutely no regard for the buisness they're in.
and they try to stop games that they canceled from being released when they find a new publisher because they're jelly
and because of Bobby Kotick

Or Call of Galactic Heroes? I would SO TOTALLY buy that!
Think of Activision as a pimp. now this pimp takes one of his girls (games), and starts really promoting and advertising her. Naturally, a lot of people start playing with her and she becomes really popular. After a while, though, they get bored and want something new, so the pimp gives her a new outfit. even though it's the exact same girl, this new outfit brings back all of the old customers. this repeats itself for a while until the people realise that they've been playing with the same, tired, worn out, overused girl for quite some time just because it was in a different outfit, so they stop. the pimp then shoots the girl and throws her in a ditch, then moves on to do the exact same thing with a new girl.
that's activision :|
Most people seem to think the Activision hatred is all about Call of Duty...it's not. Of all the reasons, CoD is at the very bottom of the list IMO. Yes the yearly milking of the CoD name is part of it, it will eventually kill the franchise. They did it before with Tony Hawk and Guitar Hero.
Call of Duty Eliet is another example of bleeding money out of the consumer.
How about buying up load of IP's then cancelling most of them, then sueing the developer because they found someone else to publish the game? They did it with Double Fine's Brutal Legend.
Firing the creators of the Call of Duty series for reasons that still remain a bit of a mystery.
Lets not forget the impact they seem to be having on Blizzard. Churning out nothing but WoW expansions for years, nickle and diming WoW players with "expanded services", and Starcraft having some of the most paranoid unfriendly end-user "security" features I've ever seen in a game.
Because Activision hates games and gamers.
R4gn4r0k
Also this.
I can't remember the exact words but Kottick pretty much stated that he doens't care for gamers.
That's pretty low to think that of the people who make your company big.
Seriously man? What a joke.
