I live in Canada and right now it costs $550 Canadian money. So that's like $400 American money. :shock: All I have to do is spend $50 more and I get a better console...so why is everybody saying that it's not worth the extra money?

Sony discontinued the 20 GB PS3 because they couldn't afford it...Microsoft can afford it, and it's keeping good sales, so there's no reason why they should discontinue it.Â
 Because cows somehow think we need a new format which we don't. Or they're just bitter that there's a new console out that is much better than ps3 in just about any respect and it's not made by Sony.
X360 120GB HDD costs $180. while PS3 it costs around $50 or less, because you can use any 2.5 HDD SATA. I have 160GB HDD in my PS3 and it only cost £52. while an X360 20GB cost £70 here in UK.

I dont hate on it, I just think its ironic that MS criticized Sony for its use of HDMI, Price point, and HDD size and then they turned around and implemented those features. I also think its funny that MS fans talk alot about options yet the early adopters got no choice on an elite as MS said they wouldnt adapt HDMI and when they denied the Zephyr rumors leaving many holiday shoppers to misleadingly buy the "premium" 360 and not give them a choice to wait a couple months and get the best 360 version.Â

The reason I hate the current Elite is because they're releasing yet another Elite that has the 65nm die, while the current one is still on 90nm. I mean why would you release a product just months before you release the same thing but it generates less heat?

Some 360 owners might have wanted the built in HDMI or bigger harddrive for that price. Instead, MS is charging $200 for the Elite HDD sold seperately. So, for $600 - current 360 owners can have what Elite owners have for $480, without the built-in HDMI.
Because it sucks It's not much cheaper than a PS3, has less power, no wi-fi, no next gen disc format and you have to pay for online. In addition it keeps failing like the original 360 (a problem that was SUPPOSED to have been fixed). Elite? more like Inferior
Because you're screwed if you bought one already and they haven't even fixed the major hardware faults. If you already have one it isn't just $50($80us) more. Yyou have to sell the old one at a big loss and end up paying at least $200 more.....which ends up being the price difference for PS3.

because with Elite, i thought that M$ should at least fix some of its technical issues, such as the rediciulous power brick, no HD-DVD, no Wi-Fi, and still using the same noisy DVD drive and not implementing the new 65nm chipset.
its bascially like you are spending more money only to get a bigger hard drive and a old generation of HDMI output.

Well i would imagine that this isn't something that MS is really going to tell everone and I don't think all new 360 buyers will take the time to find this out. Just asking, why is a bigger harddrive more important. I do not own a 360 or PS3 so I'm not sure about the use of the hardrive. All I know is you can store stuff on it, like arcade games and stuff.

Because your paying extra for a black 360, THAT STILL HAS THE SAME PROBLEMS AS ANY OTHER AFTER A YEARS CHANCE TO FIX IT !Â
Because with the Elite you think you'd be getting more, but all you really get is more memory(which is a pain to transfer data, especially if you have 2 20gb harddrives), and hdmi. 100gb more space, and Hdmi 1.2. That doesn't scream elite to me.
PS3 with Blue Ray 600$ >>>> 360 Elite with 480$+ HD - DVD 200$ WITh HARdware Problems = 680$

if u dont already have a 360 then only then it is worth it. but ied wait til they put in new chip and disc drive b/c the elite i had was loud as hell and it got hot very quik..
