Why is it that if Sony does somethin bad its a big deal but not if its nintendo?

everytime i hear ppl say like omg sony lied about 4d graphics an huge bogus claims an look at there outrageous advertising

ppl sayin it was the price is laughable high HOW CAN THAT BE? it wasn't the most expensive console in history there was tons of expensive crap b4 like neogeo/turbo grfx 16/sega cd an all that other junk that was near or over 600 dollars BACK when money was less inflated meanin those systems were even more expesnive an outrageous an didnt have the brand or the games of quality like the ps3 sony has.

plus were not talkin a huge price gap 2 wii's = 500 dollars wii with a few games = 500 dollars an THE PS3 is 400 dollars now comin down super fast an has tech worth its pricetag

First off, the reason so many people bashed Sony for the PS3's price is exactly because of those past systems that you mentioned. They all failed because they were so much more expensive than the other options. I still have my tg-16 w/ cd and owned a Sega CD.

Whether the Wii ads represent your experience as a gamer or not doesn't matter. What Nintendo is trying to show is that a diverse group of people can have fun playing the Wii. Based on personal experiences as well as those of other Wii owners on these forums I'd wager that aside from the 2 guys showing up with a Wii, the ads are somewhat correct.

I game with girls frequently. A girl I'm currently involved with has an N64 hooked up to her TV, and we play smash and Mario cart. She also enjoys playing Wii games. My friend's girl Friend plays Wii Sports with us all the time.

My mom also games. She hadn't done it since Super Mario World on the Super Nintendo, but she's acctually playing Wii now. She likes to play Wii bowling.

Also, while not of all different ages, when my friend brought back his Wii last year, we had blacks, Asian, and whites, both male and female in a room, taking turns playing games of various Wii Sports. Everyone was having a good time, and pretty much everyone loved it.

I've also had an all ages play session, when I played with my family at Thanksgiving. My grandparents, siblings, aunts and uncles all gave it a try. Everyone thought it was fun.

In my dorm, since all our rooms are networked, we also have Halo Lan parties. The girls love to get in on it too. Some may not be very good, but you should listen to some of them talk when playing. They can yell profanities like the best of them when they're getting killed.

So in my experience, the things you mentioned never happen, in fact do. Just because you're a reclusive shut in doesn't mean the rest of us don't game with people outside the 15-35 male target demographic.

Because Nintendo loves you and wants you to be happy and will tuck you in at night.

Don't worry, the video game industry isn't immune to the awful PR cycle that most mass-media wears like a Scout's Badge, I suspect Nintendo will have a huge backlash within the coming years, just look at Sony's ceremonious fall from grace in the media.
