Because MS is throwing huge amounts of money at themDo they have some kind of deal or something?

Probably, which is stupid right?; they are a pc developer who've made Max Payne which sold 5 million on the PC. SAGE_OF_FIREWell, MS publishes pc games too which is odd to me why they forced Remedy to not make AW for pc as well. I mean, I love AW but it didn't seem to be the kind of game that would sell systems if that's what MS was looking for.

Odd people keep bringing that up then bring up the most abritrary evidence often posting the musings of whiney developers whom didn't do any work at one point and were thus disbanded because they hadn't been successful in years for reasons outside of Microsoft.
My theory: MS needs more 360 exclusives to compete with Sony and move units. Alan Wake going 360 exclusive was because of Heavy Rain being a PS3 exclusive.
MS: "Here's lots of money, make games only for us."
Remedy: "How much does that say? *millions of dollars* Oh sure!"

MS likely is paying/financing them enough so that they'll stay in their camp.Do they have some kind of deal or something?

Alan Wake goes to PC: LOL Xbox has no exclusives I can play it on PC just like Mass Effect 1.
Alan Wake is 360 exclusive: How come its exclusive why would they not put it on PC how dare they!!

[QUOTE="xXCombatWombat"]THIS. Just like any other fanboy, hermits make absolutely no sense. Fanboys make no sense in general. But I do see where they're getting at. Remedy is known as a PC dev the PC version of their titles sell best on PC. Personally I would of preferred it as a multipat. Alan Wake would of sold more and other gamers would of got the chance to play it. Or maybe I'm this boasting the game too much. After all I'm the only odd person to clock in over 50 hours in the first title lol.Alan Wake goes to PC: LOL Xbox has no exclusives I can play it on PC just like Mass Effect 1.

Remedy is staying exclusive because they are independent developers and they don't have the resources to make a AAA multiplatform game unless they hire more staff. They pooled all their resources into making the Alan Wake engine for 5 years which was made specifically for the 360.
The sales weren't great and that would be more than enough for them to sever ties with Microsoft but apparently they enjoy the relationship with them to stick around.
Quantic Dream however were overlooked by other publishers and "Heavy Rain" is their most successful game thanks to Sony's support, which is why they're willing to be 2nd party developers for Sony.
[QUOTE="SAGE_OF_FIRE"][QUOTE="LookAnDrolL"] Yes they do... ensemble rings any bellsAncientDozerFasa, Rare, Lionhead, etc. Don't know about FASA but Rare was already falling apart by the time Microsoft picked them up and Lionhead has put out, by all rights, good games. It's just that System Wars logic, aka backwards logic, refuses to acknowledge them as thus.
yup, there needs to be a sticky about this. its not rocket science, and everyone should be THANK MS for closing Ensemble, they slacked off, and they don't know math

"We wanted to create something that was 30 percent the same, 30 percent borrowed and 30 percent innovative. I think we tried to do too much."
Because they sold their souls to MS, aka took MS's check for exclusitivity because no one else wants to develop for them.
they hopefully will stop now. after the failure commercially and critically that was Alan Wake.
i'd enjoy greatly to experience their games on other platforms :D.
I downloaded Death Rally on my iPhone, so no, Remedy isn't an exclusive developer for MS.

I am quoting this because too many people like avoiding the truth.

Bizarre Creation was because of activision

Sony could too!
I think Sony has enough. If not for Remedy, MS would only have Turn 10, Rare, and Lionhead. lol poor Microsoft. But you Sony fans be greedy. :P[QUOTE="TheKing012"][QUOTE="lamprey263"]probably because MS is financing and publishing their gamescloudff7tm

Remedy is an independent 3rd party.
Once again, Death Rally is on iTunes.

looks like MS beat them to the punch, I'm not sure when MS started financing them but I heard Alan Wake took 5 years to make, so MS invested early, back in 2005 Sony didn't even pay for exclusives or give any money away because they just assumed developers would make games for their system, things looked a lot better when the PS2 was king, they got cocky though and thought publishers would willingfully just make exclusives for their system without any incentive plus MS has a lot more money to throw around, they made like $18.76 billion in net profits in 2010, Sony has high revenues but in the end they only net about $1 billion on a good year, last year they only made $347 million, they don't have the money to fully finance games from 3rd parties, but they are able to shell out a little though for extra features on multiplats[QUOTE="cloudff7tm"]I think Sony has enough. I already knew that, plus I seen you mention it several times already. :P I just meant that they would only be left with their first party devs and Crytek as far as people willing to make exclusives for them. lol[QUOTE="TheKing012"]

An 8.5 score on GS and an 83 on Metacritic is a critical failure now?.
Of course, how could you play such a disgraceful game? Please Log In to post.
