Why is Sony vs. MS still the top battle here

Funny thing is PS3 and 360 are more alike than the other platforms. Is this why they battle? I myself am a PS360 guy.

I have a Wii and never ever play it. I see how they will win this Gen. It will be grandmas and children and smiles that help them sell. Because real gamer who owns one knows it is fun for a while but then it becomes not even as exciting as watching reruns of Diffrent Strokes.

My PC I noticed is better than many PC nerds who love to post their specs (kind of nerdy if you ask me). But we by and large ignore hermits as angry has beens. I admit I am so excited for Diablo 3, but it seems hermits don't get it. EVERYONE has a PC. NOT EVERYONE likes to sit at a desk to play every game. Some like to have beer and play on their ridiculously oversized tv's while laying on the couch.

In short, it seems Sony vs. MS is like Coke vs. Pepsi. Even if they aren't the top sellers or the most powerful.

Do you agree or and I just high?

Yea I know I was just messing around, I get what you mean though and I agree. PS3 and 360 are pretty much similar this gen and that's why they're the 2 that's always mentioned.

They're both "hardcore" consoles, Wii is doing it's own thing, and PC is a PC, so PS3 and 360 are like SNES and Genesis imo, and we just have to wait and see if PS3 can catch up or deliver on some of it's promises.

They did, and they did it with only a concept. I own every top game on Wii and don't get me wrong they are not bad but I never beat Zelda, never beat Metriod, never beat Galaxy, and don't play Brawl or Mario Kart. Even though they have sold more. I would much prefer to play on 360 or PS3 or PC, IMHO.

Point being even though they sold more I don't think most real gamers deep down think the the Wii is really the best.

Every gaming PC can hookup straight to an HDTV or projector. There are many games you can use wireless controllers even wireless adapters for the 360 controller to use on PC. Just because YOUR PC setup blows doesn't mean it has to for the rest of us.

I'll enjoy playing prince of persia and street fighter IV on a 55" plasma screen lying back on the couch with my wireless controller THANKS TO MY PC

Intel and amd so far has entered the pc game Industry now! Things are going to change real fast! Looks like they are also fighting pircay on the pc. Looks like PC is getting stronger and better too. don't be suprised when laptop taking the place of consoles!

They battle each other because of simply psychology- you alwasy fear what you can't have. Using this, it follows that lemmings fear the PS3. Because they know it is better, more powerful, has more futureproof, and has better games and future games. But they come to system wars and bash the PS3, making up lies about it. But what they say are just that: lies. Eventually the world will know the truth, the truth of the superior Cell and blu ray, and the fact that the 360 can't touch it. This is why the 360 fans bash the PS3. I don't see many PS3 owners bashing the 360, because PS3 owners are actually secure in their purchase. Fart_Storm

I own both and can I say this, If PS3 is WAY more powerful I have yet to see it. I like my PS3 but some of what you said is like the emperor's new clothes. Sony fanboys can't get over the fact that power isn't there or if it is we haven't seen it. 360 fanboys are guilty of this too not seeing the faults of the 360. But I can't say I agree with you one the cell.

I agree with you.

I had issues with my 360 so I got rid of it and got a PS3, but for consumer's buying a console for the first time, most people know what they are getting into weather its a PS3 or a 360. Fanboys are haters, they hate on other systems for basically no reason at all......unless you had physical issues with the other system then I can see why, but to hate on a system because no one talks, thats just lame, people dont talk on both systems.

Before the Wii launched, Nintendo said that the Wii will not be competing with the PS3 or the 360 because of HD. When more homes have HDTV's then thats when Nintendo will get into the "Next gen war". People on system wars want to put the Wii in it. I have a Wii, I dont even look at it as a next gen system, I know what the Wii is designed for and because of that I'm happy with the Wii.

LMAO, are u serious? do you not know that you can connect your PC to your TV? the only complaint I have, is that most games no longer support split screen. but I don't see why, because anything a console does a PC can do, if not better.

Just out of curiosity, Wouldn't you still need a mouse and keyboard to set up the game that you want to use a wireless controller to play on your PC connected to your TV?? And can the simplicity or lack there of, of doing so be really compared to that of setting up a console game??

i play wii everyday

the battle is between sony and MS cause they share about 80% of their games, so its fun to see which mulitplat turns out 'better'

also, lets face it, the Wii has won the sales war, so the ps3 and 360 is more interesting since they are in a close battle for 2nd place in console sales

wii simply isn't considered most of the time because it's being aimed at a completely different audience than the 360/ps3.mistervengeance

How many more people need to say the same thing as this guy? When pretty much ALL THREE of the major console manufacturers are coming out and stating that it's an understood FACT among them that the Wii is working a different class of console, why is there need to waste people's time going around talking Wii/360/PS3/PC? It's 360/PS3/PC (and PC is pretty easily argued to be in its own niche group as well, just not as much of a fanatically followed or inexpensive group (complete with tons of grandma and kid games)).

I'm pretty sure Sony and Microsoft and other companies that make PC games could put out a buttload of Mario Party - ish motion sensing games and carnival games to impress the grandmas and kiddies if they wanted too. They aren't stupid. They see what Nintendo is doing. They just don't care... because like what everybody has admitted, and even Nintendo to themselves, this is NOT a 3 console race, PERIOD. Hardcore gamers go 360/PS3/PC EVERYTIME.

Note: Maybe if Nintendo actually learned that online gaming is HUGE, then they could start to compete in the true gamers and hardcore gamers markets again, but as they said and as we've seen from their crap efforts with Mario Kart and especially Brawl, they're content with their niche market (that just happens to be a bigger market because grandma has never felt as comfortable with a game controller as she has with her diapers ever before!).

The reason is that they are alike, there is basically nothing seperating them but a few games and online (the 360 has a slight edge IMO but hey)

the other reason is that everyone know the PC is best at everything (if you say "bu bu it costs $2000 and updates every 3 hours" i will beat you to death with my mouse mat!) and the Wii has the best sales so there is nothing else to argue about, unless you get some people in denial about PC supremecy :P
