Why is the cheapest console - PS4 PRO the best out of the 3 major platforms?

As a PC gamer I have no preferences for platform. I own a PC, PS4 Pro and a Xbox One S (will buy a X1X just because it's better than building a mini itx portable pc. and also it is sexy af)

However I have to admit, despite my PC costing 4-5x more than my PS4 Pro, I am perplexed at the graphical quality of what a 4.2TF platform can do... Uncharted 4, Horizon Zero Dawn are simply too beautiful on a 4K HDR TV, even for someone who plays everything on PC maxed out... The only game I can think of which matches or surpasses those two mighty exclusives is The Witcher 3 however PS4 can also enjoy the same.

The point is, for only $400, you can enjoy 90% of everything gaming has to offer and it is just incredible. I'm not saying the other platforms are inferior, its just for the price to performance as well as quality I simply cannot believe how amazing the PS4 Pro is. Does anyone else agree the PS4 Pro is the best of the 3?

Of course it is. Fanboys around here just like to talk a lot of sh*t. When it comes down to it, the PS4 Pro offers some of the best visuals available.

Because Xbox and PC are filled with multiplats that don't take full advantage of hardware while Sony has first party studios that show off what their hardware can do.

I think it's one of these fellas:

AAA console titles have way bigger budgets than pc games in general, so while you have that powerful rig there are only a few games that will really take advantage of it. The reality is that consoles set the pace of graphical rendering not pc's. Sure you can ramp resolution and frame rate, but the structure of the game is going to be modelled on what the console can do.

Hmm, for some strange reason as a PC, PS4 Pro and Xbox One S owner I am enjoying the Nintendo Switch... I must be doing it wrong.

It has the best combination of power and games definitely for a console. But I also think PC and Nintendo have their own advantages. The Xbox is pretty useless this gen.

In Canada the Switch is a sawbuck cheaper than the PS4 Pro, as a matter of fact until November the Pro is the most expensive console on the market as far as I know. But yeah, I do get a lot of use out of my PS4 Pro though, it is the current king of the living room to show off my TV (aside from my $700 standalone Samsung 4K Bluray player).

Honesty on SW lol, next you're going to tell me the PS4 has great racing games not found elsewhere :P

As a PC/PS4 pro owner I agree with you. Only a few games on PC beat the exclusives on PS4 Pro when it comes to visuals. Since exclusives tend to make the most of hardware and Sony has more AAA dev studios pumping out exclusives they tend to make better use of their hardware. My graphics card alone consist more than the PS4 Pro and I'm still amazed with what it can put out. HZD and Uncharted 4 have few equals when it comes to visuals even on PC.

My opinion (as someone with all recent consoles and a pc) ia that it doesnt matter which platform you game at. If you have an xbox one s you will enjoy it. if you have a ps4 you will also enjoy it a lot.

Now on topic. ps4 pro will mpst likelly go down to 350 with game and controller on december 2017 due to one x release. For 350 it is the best deal in price quality

When a console is built with a by the gamers for the gamers mantra, of course it will be the best.

People looking for a good deal will wait for a lot lower price than $350. Most people willing to spend that much money will want the most powerful console and will shell out the few extra bucks to own it. Didn't think the Pro was worth it when it was released and still don't. I will how ever pre-order the X1X when available.

Still, I am curious about upgrading to a PS4 pro... but is it really worth the £200? I have a 4k HDR tv now... and looking to catchup on a few PS4 games as the system has collected dust for about 18 months.

Cause Sony's 1st party studios know how to make the games look good on Sony's platform. If only they could learn from Nintendo how to make them better gameplay wise ;)

PlayStation, pro or normal, has entire genres missing from it and that's just one downfall of consoles that make PC superior in every way.

Sony fanboy and their alts are just weird. I mean come on this account is 14 days old and already doing posts like this. I'll never understand creating new accounts just to lie for a console company, it normally is the Sony fans doing this also. that makes the results of a ps4 pro on a 4k hdr tv not that far from 4k only haters will say its bad. The final result is beautiful.

And to show my support I only buy games patched to almost 4k 30fps AND 1080p 60fps. Maybe if everyone does like me they will need to optimize and patch those games that were not patched

and just plug that bad boy to 4k tv and you'll get a 4k image, barely any difference.

Since when is the PS4 Pro the cheapest console? It's the opposite of that. It's the most expensive of all of the consoles that are currently available on the market.

you should build a PC that cost 4 time less than your current pc (sell your current pc) and you will not even tell the difference.

I have to agree with you TC. Ps4/Pro has some of the best exclusives right now, great gameplay and amazing graphics for the hardware. A Switch would be nice for Zelda, its beautiful in its own way. OneX will sure be powerful for the price but i can just play everything on PC.
