Isn't it odd that there's no sticky and very little talk about Naruto? A few days a go, I saw a lot of lemmings excited about this game and starting threads about their excitement. And now, after GS scored it low, eveyone is quiet. Why?

GameSpot's Review - 7.5
Good: City of Konoha is awesomely fun to explore
Nice contrast between cartoony characters and more-realistic environments
Jutsu abilities make standard fighting-game action more interesting.

Bad:Jarring transitions between 2D cutscenes and 3D gameplay
Story feels short and doesn't quite convey the scope of the events
Lots of interesting gameplay ideas, few of which are fleshed out enough.

On GameRanking.com - 78%

This is not a fanboy thread. I am not bashing Naruto. I haven't played it, so I have no personal opinion about it. I just can't believe that with all of the excitement for this game a few days ago that some of you aren't pissed. I also don't believe in claiming "teh pwnage" over hype in SW. If the game is good, its good. If its bad, its bad. Keep it simple.

Do you 360 fans think this is a fair score?

because very few people cared about it and it scored a 7.5 which isn't high enough to draw any positive attention. :|

Probably by Naruto fanboys and/or 11 year olds... not that there's much of a difference between the two.

I am sorry, I shouldn't have said it was hyped AAA.

All I meant was that many 360 fans seemed to be very excited about this game. Making that mistake in Sw, not a good idea. i will edit my post.

But here are some of the threads where people were really excited for this game.

I think there are a number of reasons:

1) There is a small group of animee fansthat will like this game. They were the only ones hyping most people either didn't know or care about this game.

2) There are so many great games around for the 360 at the minute and about to releasedthat most titles that aren't blockbusters are completely flying under the radar.

3) Outside of a couple of vocal fanboys I don't think anyone was really expecting anything from this game. TBH 7.5 probably surprised alot of people that it was that high! How many other games in this genre are just horrible?

I'm still quite interested though there are so many good-great games out and one coming has effected my interest massively.

A few that have just arrived, Naruto, VF5 & Simpsons will prolly be purchased for holiday or post holiday play. :)

I don't think that demo was a great way to sell the game but the IGN review wasn't too bad.

The biggest reason I want it is, I just love the show !:D

While i don't think Simpsons was perfect, I do think its a great Simpsons game thats been a long time coming. I've been watching the show since it debuted on the Tracy Ullman show back in the day. So, I find the game's jokes funny and very entertaining. Will it be a game to sit on my shelves, probably not. But, then again, I don't buy a lot of adventure games.

It recieved some AA and AAA reviews at other sites (mostly AA only one AAA and now two A). I don't mind it missing AA. I already expected it even though I hyped AA. I like BD and GS flopped it. So I don't see a problem with GS score until I play it.

Yeah many many, NON western adult MEN. I cannot go further into ethnicity at the risk of of getting modded. But the adult men who enjoy that kid stuff are either raised somewhere outside of western civilization or come from a family in that region where animee originated. sorry

You know why no one is talking about it, is because before came out no one was talking about it. It was never hyped. Ya sure there were a few threads here and there talking about how good it looked graphically, but that was about it. I dont know where you are coming from. :|

I know that when I first saw a trailer for this game I was very interested, I just started watching every episode of Naruto on Veoh.com and I'm really enjoying it, so I have every intention of picking up the game. I didn't expect much from the game at all, so a 7.5 in gamespot is fine with me. I can imagine that a lot of 360 fans are interested in the game and are going to pick it up, but probably felt it wouldn't score AAA or anything really amazingso there isn't anything to really be mad about, if you are a fan you will enjoy it, Believe it!

I'm pissed. I havn't been rented any games since I moved into my new place. And there have been a few games that have come out since then thatI really want to try. I'm taking a journ up to Blockbuster on friday and renting like...... 7 games. (Naruto will be one of them)

If this thread is still kicking around then I'll report back with my findings. Cause I know you're all just dying to hear my opinion....

Parents born in Massachusettes and South Carolina. I grew up here, though I've traveled around. I was born in Puerto Rico as my parents met there. I then lived in Texas, and now MD.

I'm half Irish, a quarter German, and a quarter English.

Not just that, but I'm not the only non-asian influenced American I know that watches this stuff.

Oh, yeah. I'm 25. So, whether in your eyes that makes me a "loser" or not is not as important as proving that your ridiculous generalization was just that. Ridiculous.

Edit: By "traveled around" I just mean I've visited other countries, not lived in them.

Personally anime is not for me, but I do enjoy many westernshows alot of people (including my wife!) consider "geeky" or "lame". If someone enjoys something, why get bothered by it, we all have like something that other people don't get. Life is short and you should do what you love. Hell we're posting on a gaming board about video games.

Those in glass houses shouldn't throw rocks.

There it is, somewhere when you were travelling in one of em foreign countries you we're impressed by the culture that created animee. So obviously you have reasons for liking animee, you were exposed to the culture.

And as for Opacic A. Your 17 and your just finding yourself. Your just confused and obviously you have friends of an asian descent. You can swim to Australia from Japan.

When the guy said Naruto was kiddy, I thought he meant literally that it was a kids show. I was under that impression too. I'm not lumping anime in any catergory butthat was just what I thought.

OMFG, this has to be one of the weakest points ever made on SW.

I don't like anime myself. But i have a friend, german decent, here in the US, who's never, ever, ever been to Asia. Nor does he have any asian friends or family. The guy LOOOOVES anime.

You, sir, love to generalize to fit your narrow view. try making sense next time.

I'm convinced you're just kidding around.

I started watching anime when I was 12. Before I had broadened my horizons.

Alright fine you got me. I gotta admit I watched animee back in the day. Its just when I see Naruto it looks so childish. I was a DBZ fan, big pokemon fan. Then I found Samurai Champloo which has gotta be one of my favourite series, Probably'll buy it on DVD.

I still stand by my statement that Naruto is for kids, The Crucible spun it around and said that lotta adults like Animee, well how many like NARUTO! Stick to the original subject. I just got defensive. Apologies to those who I offended. But Crucible to can kiss my foot for ignoring my original statement

I never liked DBZ, though the original Dragonball was cool.

Naruto is pretty kiddie, though I watched all hundred+ episodes (not filler) and shippuden? But, still kiddie. :P

But, yeah, I watched Samurai Champloo this year. It's quite good. Cowboy Bebop, Trigun. Etc.

[QUOTE="pro-nathan-07"]AAA?? ha ! link to people saying it would be AAA??The_Crucible

I am sorry, I shouldn't have said it was hyped AAA.

All I meant was that many 360 fans seemed to be very excited about this game. Making that mistake in Sw, not a good idea. i will edit my post.

But here are some of the threads where people were really excited for this game.

http://www.gamespot.com/pages/forums/show_msgs.php?topic_id=26009956

http://www.gamespot.com/pages/forums/show_msgs.php?topic_id=25990837

go through those posts again, its not a complete love fest in those threads, some people are quietly waiting for the game some are excited and others just hate anime.

so i'm not really surprised that a lot of people are not talking about it, this is one of those games where fans will just buy it and enjoy it and move on. its exactly what I will be doing, just don't know when, just got AC6, been playing Halo3 and puzzle quest and i'm going to get COD4 and Mass Effect.

shoot if anyone gets Naruto and is done with it i'll trade Forza 2 for it! My xbox died again so I got an elite, came with two free games but I already have Forza. I'll trade the older copy since it comes in its own DVD cover. hehe doesn't hurt to ask, does it now?

Why is there no hype about new Naruto? It's simple. Every Naruto game is not good at all. Since the PS2 days.

Anyone who is a Naruto fan (myself included) understands why they can't nail the proper Naruto game so far regardless of console.

When it's made properly, and not a "quick fix" to please average "TV" fans with low quality game and sell it for its name then maybe there will be a good time to buy one.

I won't even go into details why current Naruto games suck, literally. Naruto fans should know.

Apparently this Naruto is decent. Just short and not "amazing".

because very few people cared about it and it scored a 7.5 which isn't high enough to draw any positive attention. :|

CaseyWegner

7.5 is pretty high for games that are based on movies or on animes.

Come on, dude. Its an art-style. And art-style called japanese anime. Many, many, many adults love anime. So, cut the generalizations and grow up.

Yeah many many, NON western adult MEN. I cannot go further into ethnicity at the risk of of getting modded. But the adult men who enjoy that kid stuff are either raised somewhere outside of western civilization or come from a family in that region where animee originated. sorry

I am a 27 year old raised in america buy a german father and an austrian/irsh mother. and i love anime. my sister loves anime. and half my freinds love anime... we are all of european decent. so that means you dont know jack and should get modded for being ignorant.
