Why is the Wii such an easy target for bashing/flamming?

Its almost impossible to form a full proof defense like you do with the other systems.

Sheep can say we hae the Wiimote and everyone else will say--

1. It's a Gimmick. 

2. It hasn't proven to be revolutionary at all or used well in any games because of ect.

Hitting Graphics argument is pointless. Talking 3rd-party titles cant be done yet. VC prices are to high to most. Infact, the only advantge sheep have are their 1st-party titles and even the arguments against that continue strongly

3. Sony is catching up in 1st party quality.

Sure their not mature ones, but their effective lol  The only thing  sheep have the Lems and Cows beaten in are sales every month. Do you sheep think it pointless to even bother defending the Wii ? Surely, it's almost a hassle for you guys.

             Because it's overpriced !!!  Really - I know I have bashed it but tell you true, if it were 150.00 not 250.00 i would have no problems but it does gripe some of us when a company is being so succesful at pulling the wool ( lol - pun intended ) over so many sheeps eyes ! ;)

Wii bashing has increased due to the insecurities of other fanboys mainly because the wii is selling better than the other two consoles. The wiis MAJOR flaw is temporary and that's getting GOOD 3rd party support instead of the mini-games we've had so far. Twilight Princess doesn't last 6 months of playing time ya' know.super_mario_128

You nailed it on the spot. The thing that really ticks my nerves is when they call the Wii a fad. I'll be laughing at all their faces once the holiday season approaches and the Wii is still selling like a rocket.

    Since bashing is arbitrary and usually ill-thought out, its easy to "bash" any system. And since no system is flawless, finding faults with any system is also easy to do.

    The hard thing is defending any of the systems. 

i think alot of ppl just bash it because its pretty much a GC or a PS2 with a motion sensing controller. So due to graphics being poor , well not really poor but not something to drool over. Fanboys think it will be come a Fad once ppl realize that Wii is not next gen on graphics department. i have a few friends at work who own a Wii and thought Wii was supppose to push out on graphics but they notice its just a PS2 or GC with a light saber as a controller lol. now i convinced  him to get a 360, but i think he is going towards for the ps3 due to blu ray.

Heh, you think the Wii's the only one getting bashed/flamed all the time? You should see how fanboys/media have been treating the PS3. Mind you, a fair bit of that flaming is probably justified, but it still gets too much flak IMO. :|Jagazaar

"bu bu bu.. teh GAMEPLAY" Nintendo fans go on about this mysterious force "gameplay" as if its a feature exclusive to the wii.

Sure the idea of the wiimote is great in theory , but ive yet to see it really deliver this "gameplay" you all speak of. In reality, wii has a bunch of highly sucky games, many average ones, and a couple of decent titles, none of which deliver anywhere near as much fun or gameplay as the best titles on next-gen sytems.

Once you take away that particular argument , you are indeed left with an overclocked gamcube with a dissapointing motion sensing addon.Reset

I think the PS3 is an easy target to be bashed, due to it's lack of games and price, but that's expected for it not to have that many games in the beginning. And this is only temporary it will definately be resolved in the next few months.

 Stated shortly, the Wii is simply the most regressive, weak, and functionless console on the market this generation.  It uses an unethical marketing strategy and exploits its most loyal fans while gaining a new market.  Meeting the new market demand (casual consumers) will decrease the overall quality of Wii games and discourage the creation of first party titles. 

Third party developers will also be pressured, by publishers, to produce games that reflect the largest demand in the market.  Even if a company produces an innovative game for the Wii, the control scheme -- not the content, depth, graphics, sound, plot, or any other overlooked facet of gameplay -- will likely be at the core of the game.  Wii reinforces negative stereotypes about gaming by defining gaming within those stereotypes.

Instead of viewing gaming as a respectful artistic medium that can compete with film and literature, Nintendo limits the function and purpose of gaming to nothing more than a childish toy that exists to create only the most simple and shallow forms of entertainment. 

That is why I hate Nintendo Wii more than any console on the market.  And I hate all the consoles on the market at the moment.

Its because the Wii is severely underpowered versus the PS3, and the 360 and people might be getting mad that the underdpg is flying up at such an alarming rate.

i no longer bother defending the Wii...not that i dont like it. I love it if anything but its pointless to argue with people who think graphics are more important then gameplay. Who is bothered to argue with imature people?creativeminded
