ya, I know what you mean! I played in 5-10 hour segments and finished it in a week! Then, I went back through it, slower, and finished my second playthrough a month after. I've beaten the game 4 times now! Its absolutely amazing! I think im finally done with it, but I've popped it in every now and then just to go fishing or run around Hyrule!
8.8...psshhht... best game so far this gen imo, and its a last gen game...

[QUOTE="Vandalvideo"]I bought it, was addicted, beat it, and then realized It only lasted me 3 days.mattbbpl
Wow, that's a long game to go through in 3 days. You must have had some long sessions. I think it took me about a month.
It was only about 21 or so hours long, save cave of trials.[QUOTE="mattbbpl"][QUOTE="Vandalvideo"]I bought it, was addicted, beat it, and then realized It only lasted me 3 days.Vandalvideo

No way. 21 hours? That's way too short, even if you just fly through the game, which is almost impossible to do since you're bound to do some exploring and other things on the side. Maybe i just took my time, but i don't see how you could fly through the game that quick, especially on your first time...

If I can beat Half-Life 1 in 56 minutes I can beat TP in 21hours. :D[QUOTE="mattbbpl"][QUOTE="Vandalvideo"]I bought it, was addicted, beat it, and then realized It only lasted me 3 days.Vandalvideo

I know what you mean, and I'm not quite sure why, but it's definitely true. I wound up going through that game in pretty large chunks, and finished it fairly quickly.
I think part of it is that the game does a good job of always having something you see you can do. There's always another upgrade to get, or a new story quest to finish. It keeps pushing you forward that way.

Zelda really is a great game once you get into it. Its a bit repetative at times (collecting the tears), but those moments are short and do not ruin the whole experience at all. I would give Zelda TP a 9.5 based purely on how massive the game really is. You never really get bored because there is always so much to do and see!
but, as far as buying a Wii... wait till late 2007, or 2008 when all of these games come out, so you can have a selection... then pick up Zelda for like 30 bucks! -

Jeff is the worst reviewer...ever.
I think Jeff had preconcieved notions that the Wii would suck, and that factored into the review. Honestly, the game was lacking a bit of that Zelda feel, but it still deserved a 9.0.
I also think Jeff came around and realized his mistake, and to make up for it, he gave Wario Ware an AAA score.

i bought the game, played 10 or so hours - absolutely LOVED it - among the best 10 hours of gameplay i've ever experienced
but then i logged on to gamespot.com and saw that 8.8 in jeff's review.....and immediately returned the game
i refuse to play flops.

Yeah, it's a good thing Jeff told me how not good it was. Otherwise I might have actually enjoyed that filth.
I like LOZTP, I have clocked 15 hours since I got it in march, just got to the water temple. BTW, this was my first Zelda Game I have ever played.

Which is stupid and immature, this is not the way you run things. You don't make up for a stupid mistake by making another one. That game did not deserve AAA, just compare this review to others. It's quite moronic actually.
You also have to consider how PD0 could score AAA and Resistance couldn't. Another example? GeoW, simply overrated. People got way too excited by the graphics, the hype. In the end, it's just an average, repetitive TPS with amazing graphics and a very short single player and lackluster multiplayer.

There is just so many things you can do in TP, it was like he reviewed it off the combat system alone. and then he goes and gives GeoW a 9.6? I CANT STAND JEFF!

Sure its not Mass Effect, Too Human, Bioshock, *continues on with 360's amazing line-up......* but its better than the 360's first year of Oblivion and Gears for sure! And better than the PS3's 2007 line-up imo.

I agree! When I first sat down to play it, I got on... got some good food, and got all ready for this EPIC, INSANE, AMAZING GAME!!!!!!!!!!!! and then I beat it in 2 sittings... in one day. A 6 hour segment, ate some lunch, came back, beat it 3 more hours. OMG I was pissed. The game was good, but for "next gen" standards with games like Zelda and Oblivian, and others lasting WAY longer... its unacceptable imo. A shooter should be atleast 15 hours long. not 6-10!!
TP was very meh, not nearly as magical as OOT. As a matter of fact there wasn't even a magic bar. The enemies were poorly desgined and so was world, just ugly flat and bland. Wind Waker was much more imaginative in terms of style. The game was also very tedious, felt like I already played it. Maybe it was because it was so easy.Super-Skunk420
I do agree with the easy part. Nintendo needs to kick our asses with Zelda... not play around with them... :?

Yup, and there's not much more to do after that. Multiplayer just didn't do it for me, i just didn't find it fun, at all, i didn't play it much. Not only that, but the game itself, while fun, got repetitive fast. I wasn't supposed to feel any doubts while playing this amazing ground breaking 9.6 game. Yet...i did, it did nothing new, did not reinvent anything, was very repetitive and very short.

I thought they did a good job with the camera.... but beyond that, your about right. I played the multiplayer for about a month, just to fill time really. I felt almost stupid for buying the game for 60 bucks. Almost felt wasted really... :(
Its deffinantly something to improve upon though... good start for GeoW2 guys! WOOT!!
[EDIT] I should add that there were a lot of amazing parts in the game, but after the excitement died down, I went back to play it again, and I remembered it so well (because its so short) that I didn't finish it... When I've beaten Zelda 4 times now just to revisit certain places... like Zora's domain when its in ice, and other places.

WOOT!!
Feel the same way here :( Yup, they definitely have a lot of time to improve on GeoW 2, and i really hope they do!

In the end, it's just an average, repetitive TPS with amazing graphics and a very short single player and lackluster multiplayer.
that game was one of the best in 06 get over it.
Nope. Good game, but highly overrated. I wonder just how long it will take people to realize it, a lot already do. I guess they thought the same thing about Halo 2 when it was first released, defending it and all. It wasn't until later on that they realized it was simply overrated.
A shooter should be atleast 15 hours long. not 6-10!!

ya, really! As I edited above... the game really did have some cool parts in it, it just was forgettable after the thrills were over. And really... even if it was 20 hours long and continued to be interesting, I dont think it would deserve a 9.6 any way. The running and leaping controls IRRITATED ME SOOOOO MUCH! You would press and hold "x"... or is it "a" (wow... I havn't played it in a long while...XD) to run, and then the same button was to duck and cover. So... I would be running away, trying to get out of the way of something... and then BOOM! I would LEAP to the left, with a simple left twitch, and take cover and then get hit by the thing I was trying to avoid. AJAFJASDLFKJ ASLDKFJASDL:KFJA L:SDKfj

how did this become a discussion about GeOW? If you're talking about addicting, then it's gotta be GeOW > Zelda. I don't expect many sheep, in basically a sheep thread, to like it though.
