Barely represented in E-Sports. leagues behind on multiplayer support.
Mainly game on handhelds now.
their influence this generation has been smaller than eu and us games, including their treasured "JRPGs" proving how much of a rut they are in, outside of nintendo ofcourse.
Even sony's first parties that have been the massive hits are not even by the JApanese teams.
kings of gaming how exactly?
@MBirdy88: there technology is years ahead of you guys
ok, that has to do with gaming what exactly?
Japanese people like compact gadgets, something small. Have you ever wondered why Nintendo and Sony go with that philosophy and both companies make handhelds too. In comparison to the Xbox which always follow american mentality of being big is better. While it may seem suffercial, its actually one of the major reason why it happens

Firstly, Japan are not the gaming kings, at least not anymore.
Secondly, a majority of Japanese gamers today actually prefer handhelds over consoles.
Thirdly, PC gaming tends to have a bad reputation in Japan because of its association with hentai games.
And finally, Japan did have a popular computer gaming industry back in the 8-bit and 16-bit days, but then it eventually declined.

Yes,we all believe that there are no connections at all to all the previous Supa_Fly accounts
Core PC gaming isn´t as popular in Japan because it basically consists of western style games, the same types of games that don´t do very well on consoles in Japan, though these days, consoles aren´t the focus of the japanese market anymore,it´s all about the handhelds and you want to know one of the reasons why?
Because unlike the home consoles, handhelds are still dominated by japanese games(mostly because western devs don´t even bother with them),wich is one of the reasons the home console market is losing relevance there.
Japan dropped out of the PC industry in the 90's while PC development was becoming a chore for Japanese developers because of how fast technology was growing. It also was because complicated games that were on PC's at the time were becoming less popular. Fast forward to now and it seems that the same thing is happening with consoles. A lot of japanese game devs last gen went onto the Wii or portables to continue making games without risking a lot of money. Now it's almost all portables.
Even larger japanese devs are focusing a lot of software on portables now, in some cases it's all profit, and they can add very little innovation and still be called great portable games for doing so. Heck, there are android game app vending machines being tested right now over there.
However there is Final Fantasy XIV, it's not doing to bad on the PC soil.
