Why laugh at PS3 sales?

Seriously this is what i don't understand. When NPD release their June 2007 data sometime in the year 2015(when the **** are they gonna release it?) then fanboys will laugh at PS3 sales because it's too low. Why are you expecting PS3 sales to be high?

1) Sheep/Lemmings laugh at PS3 sales saying "teh 4:1" sales lololol

2) Sheep/Lemmings say PS3 is too expensive and don't have enough games.

Well is you think PS3 has poor libary of games and is too expensive then why are you laughing at monthly sales? One thing which should be laughed at is comparing sales of two consoles that are $250 and $600. Wii is naturally going to outsell PS3, and why SHOULD PS3 sales be high? The consumers realise it's too expensive and will wait for a price drop. Jesus christ the irony is appauling. I want a PS3 for games like FFXIII, Gow3 and MGS4 but do you see me buy a PS3 now? No. It still manages to sell around 80-90k a month in U.S which is still too much imo. Those people are either really rich or just love sony fully stop. I know a lot of hardcore PS fans and even then they are waiting to get one.

My point: Stop laughing at PS3 at the moment, if it's still selling like this next year when the big games are out then yeah it will be funny.

And for the love of god stop bragging about the Wii, it's embarassing. There is more blind Nintendo fanboyism then anything else on the planet.

if too many ppl wait because of the price then the ps3 will lose enough support that it will not gain momentum or marketshare before nintendo and MS release their next gen. just because sony might support the ps3 for 10 years (hardware only most likely) doesn't mean 3rd party will.

You underestimate how many families and non-gamers actually bought the PS2. Those are the same people who will snatch up a Wii and run with it for 5 years.

3rd parties haven't ABONDONED PS3. They've just abandoned EXCLUSIVE support to PS3. And also PS3 is outselling 360 in JPN so for a HD system it will do well there.

Sony have said some stupid things i guess. But even when their system has a HD player noone wants and a $600 price tag it's still selling pretty well with an average list of games. People here laugh at sales, i'm actually surprised by them.

We don't expect PS3 sales to be high. Just because we expect PS3 sales to be low, doesn't mean we can't laugh when they are low.

BTW, did one of you say Wii and 360 sales are equal month-to-month worldwide? No they aren't. The Wii is outselling the 360 about 3:1 worldwide monthly.

they haven't abondoned the ps3 YET. it's still only 8 months. i full expect them to finish projects already millions of dollars and several years in development. (pretty much all the big names you're waiting for) But what about after those projects are done? well that'll totally depend on the sales by then. it's isn't still under 10 million months into 08 and getting outsold 4-1 monthly expect more ports than you're seeing already. and expect a major shift to the wii. it'll be the 360 and ps3 that will get the short end of the stick development wise from 3rd party. (of course that's all if sales stay this way till mid 08.)

if you want to really support the ps3 and give it a long life you'd buy it now or very soon. mid 08 may be too late.

This is just a guess but I think people are laughing cause cows are the worse fanboys right next to the hermits.

I think the reason this is because both of them spent or had buy for them stuff that isn't worth the price and they have to convince themselves they got the "superior" gaming platform and that anything else is inferior to it.

And it makes them angry when they see the 360 and the Wii doing better.

PS3 sales are bad in the US US...PS3 is doing good work in Japan and all those Asian countries so that's why SONY isn't THAT desperate to lower prices or aren't doing the impossible to sell their PS3s..Slow and steady is the way to go...

just today i was round my friends house and her brother was at the door and i asked him "where's your 360" and he said it's at hisfriends i asked him if was going to buy a ps3 and he was like not yet, not until "Mgs4" comes out. You can believe what you believe. but a lot of people are still waiting for a ps3. this obviously may or not represent the majority of gamers out there. But the fact remains that a lot of ps2 gamers are still undecided. some may have boughta 360 but they will cave in for solid games like mgs4 FFXIII, GT5 . these games are definitely system sellers.
