Why Mass Effect deserves it's hype, and Heavenly Sword does not.

Everything you need to know about Heavenly Sword is right here. Do you remember why it was wrong to hype Killzone? On the other hand, some games such as Mass Effect deserve their hype.

Have a riot System Wars. I hope Heavenly Sword is a fantastic game I truly do. I just wouldn't raise your hopes too high for a developer who has only made one rubbish fighting game. Hell the only thing that made Kung Fu Chaos good was it's multiplayer, and Heavenly Sword has no multiplayer.

Mass Effect and Heavenly Sword will be great. I have heard Heavenly Sword is very similar to God of War.

I'm not a Sony fan, but HS looks cool. I don't know if it will live up to the hype, but definitely looks good.DanBal76

Wrong. The screenshots look good. If you take a close look you will see that the developer has removed the only redeeming feature from their previous fighting game; the multiplayer component. KFC didn't even score a single A on gamespot.

I'm sorry, but what's wrong? BTW, do you think HS is a fighting game? It's an action adventure game, and it looks a lot like God of War.

I think it has more to do with the fact that Bioware always delivers.

BTW, I own Kung Fu Chaos and enjoyed it. I also think Heavenly Sword looks quite promising.

Dude Heavenly Sowrd deserves to have hype. It looks like a very fun game and the graphics are pretty good too.

All we need now is to see how the gameplay is...

Yeah, because Neverwinter Nights was a blast to play and did not sent RPG's six years back. Heavenly Sword is being hyped as a great action/adventure game, Mass Effect is being hyped as the greatest RPG ever made, which one do you think deserves it more?

Why would I want to play some crappy moduels? It took years for good ones to come out and I still prefer the mods for Baldur's Gate II. Anyways Aurora Editor is not the actual game, if it was so many games would be given much higher scores from user generated content.

It hasnt been downgraded, the latest pics were taken from pre-release builds without all bells and whistles on (as stated by a dev working on the game).

Fallout, Fallout II, Planescape Torment, Baldur's Gate series, Jagged Alliance 2, The Elderscrolls II: Daggerfall, Ultima games, Phantasy Star II, Final Fantasy IV, VI and VII, each of those games had atleast one element better than KOTOR. Not only that but look at what game won story of the year in 2003.

I especially take offense at your 'great combat' remark. Words like simple, boring, generic and too easy are better ways to describe the combat.

Right up with Oblivion, dumbed down from Morrowind, which was dumbed down from Daggerfall, great. No review I read mentioned it though, infact IGN put it in the top 20 greates PC games of all times specifically because of the auto-levelling.

Back on subject, I am not arguing that KOTOR is a bad game- but the greatest RPG of all time? Clearly if that is the title it is given than it better be exceptional, but it lacked many elements that would put it up there.

An obvious argument, and one I was expecting to see. Well, most of the comments made towards Ninja Theory have been to point out their lack of experience, not necessarily their lack of skill. It is true that Ninja Theory could have some incredible talent hiding under there, but it has yet to be proven (where as Bioware has proven themselves countless times). This is our argument, not the one everyone jumps to attack (by 'our', I mean anyone who used Ninja Theory in their argument in a non-biased way to prove a point).

Good point about EGM. This game definately deserves its hype, and i'm sure it will be another great bioware game. I've seen the old footage and it was butter. I was suprised at how great the game looked and how smooth it ran. Maybe were not seeing the same footage. Adrian_Cloud

I'm refering to the combat sections of the E306 footage. It ran terribly. The bar scene with the talking was well done, but it was an extreme contrast when compared to the combat.

Why?

Here's why: Because Lilac_Benjie can't stand the thought of PS3 having another good game come out.
