All this rests on one flaw though, as a business you try and improve year upon year, which Microsoft doesn't seem to be doing. Releasing more now, will bring in more revenue for 2008, to be invested again in a cycle. You don't just stop and take a year off because you are "winning". It isnt what businesses do
Mmm, Stoked. As a snowboarder and a fan of gaming, having that boarder that finally matches the awesome realism (and beats it) of Amped is a dream come true. I know it's a niche game, but it exceeded the nonexistent hype here and delivered the same score as R&C: ToD and just a bit under Uncharted, which are both bigger budget titles. The Skate-like control system and the dynamic weather system are a complete joy. Stoked will be keeping my 360 busy for quite some time.
I can't wait for Lips 2 and You're In The Movies 2! :Dnope http://720games.blogspot.com/2009/01/microsoft-we-have-lot-planned-for-2009.html

Nope. He tells them that at the board meetings. The TC is Aaron Greenberg after all. They tell you that @ the board meeting?

thats a first, annoucning a game for it to be released a few months later. I know they do this with Scene It and Lips but anythign else would be a pleasant surprise.nope http://720games.blogspot.com/2009/01/microsoft-we-have-lot-planned-for-2009.html

In that response lies a flaw. Every month, especially in Europe, the 360 is vastly selling better Year over year. All this rests on one flaw though, as a business you try and improve year upon year, which Microsoft doesn't seem to be doing. Lol you clearly know nothing about business, when you're in the lead, you don't rest on your laurels, instead you're supposed to do everything you can to increase the lead. You fail.
I really don't see them resting on their laurels. You don't get to the top of the corporate world by beating your opponent and then coasting to the finish line. You get there by using weapons and biting and low blows (in a corporate sense). As for their lineup, I have gained a little faith that they have something coming now. Hell, who here knew about Onlive before yesterday? Sometimes secrets can be kept.

Yeah, those were the only new games they announced at last years E3 and released in the same year, come to think of it.
I think the price gap and ODST are weapons enough for MS. So far the price gap is allowing impressive year over year growth. But I updated my list to include Ninja blade and 360/PC games like Velvet Assassin, Two WOrlds Temptation, Dungeon Hero, Battlestations Pacific. 360 still has an impressive lineup of games not on PS3 (notice how i didnt say "exclusive")I really don't see them resting on their laurels. and naruto:broken bond.Microsoft dosen't usually show off a game until it's almost ready for release, unlike Sony who will show off a game years before it will be released. Neither are bad business strategies. MS strategy allows for consumers to see a product that will be coming soon, allowing it to build hype, whereas Sony shows off a product years ahead, and allows it to build hype for a year or two before the game comes out. However both of these business strategies can be flawed, MS not showing off a lot of games until their almost ready, can cause what we see here, people giving up on the company for failing to show off new product ahead of time, whereas Sony showing off a product too early and letting the hype build for years can result in a product that dosen't live up to expectations.

and naruto:broken bond.Ah.......how could I forget that? :P They won't wait until E3 to announce major new AAA games for the holiday, it gives very little time for hype to build up. So I'd expect something sooner rather than later.

E3 became a little too mainstream now that they air it on TV.I don't think it's possible to keep an amazing game until a few months for release. It's good that the wait is shorter but the hype isn't there.
Imagine if FFXIII was announced last week, it would be totally different than it is now.

, to this day I'm certain an SW poster writes for Yahoo!. Everytime we talk about something here, it always ends up in Yahoo's gaming section hours or a couple of days later. If they don't post regularly then they lurk the hell outta SW.
When people talk about Microsoft here why do they always seem to forget the existence of Games For Windows? Games for Windows is just as much Microsoft's platform as Xbox is.Zero5000XYa I agree............but i left it out cause hermits tend to get their nickers in a twist when we say that :P

Yes but businesses always try and press an advantage to further the revenue made. They have a responsibility to the shareholders of a company. Shareholders won't be happy if a company just takes a year off and just lets it's console sell out, they'll want to push more, increasing their own payout.
I just realised I put 2008 instead of 2009.

The list I made hardly says they are taking a year off. I dont know if your aware but there are plenty 360/PC games scheduled for 09 and ODST will surely cause a stir.[QUOTE="lundy86_4"][QUOTE="-M117-"] In that response lies a flaw. Sorry didn't mean to imply that :P
