why ninja gaiden is better than god of war

I have never actually played GoW, but from what I've heard & read, NG is 10x the game that GoW is...... when I hear fools claim that NG is a button mashfest, its blatantly obvious that either they never played NG or they achieved "Ninja Dog" status on every level.

umm i enjoy ninja gaidens difficulty but as far as an OVERALL game, ala story, bosses, gameplay, weapons, GOW wins hands downAnimal-Mother

Uh gameplay and weapons go to NG with ease.

GoW combat system is not as simple as Square,square,square square

Its more like

O,TRIANGLE,TRIANLGE,TRIANGLE,Hold R1 SQUARE,SQUARE,SQAURE,UP,L2,LEFT,L2,L1, Hold O, Hold R1 TRIANGLE,TRIANGLE,TRIANGLE

You can choose to use Grab,Normal Attack,Power Attack,Special Powers,Combo's

Its just simple to get used to, not simply button mashing, you cant beat the game by only pressing SQUARE or TRIANGLE or O

Whether GOW or NG is a button smasher depends on what difficulty you're playing at. But yes NG does have the deeper combat system. That doesn't make NG better though-GOW has more varied gameplay, bigger set pieces and a more interesting story.

I don't really like either that much though.

I like the challenging gameplay in Ninja Gaiden more than i like the pretty environments in God of War. Therefore

The TC has obviously never played GoW if he thinks its strictly buttonmashing and if he would call it the worst action game ever created. Sure facing normal enemies can be done by mashing butoons but boss fights take more then that.

LMAO. You just said "opinion." Then, you went to identify God of War as a "fun" game for general people. Well, you know what, to your suprise, some people like hard games. NG is definately not for noobs (you included). Plus, NG 2 has a lower difficulty which is even easier than Ninja Dog on NG Black. NG 2 is a must play. I feel sad for bunch of Cows on this thread (not you) who are not going to be able to play this game. It also goes for Lemmings who won't be able to play God of War III when it comes out because GoW is a great franchise just not at NG's level.

Yup I agree with you, I remember the first time i saw Ninja Gaiden Sigma trailer I got hyped, then when i borrowed it from a friend i thought it was a complete let down IMO GOW has everything better than NG even gameplay, but thats just my opinion.

Yeah theres something about it which makes me want to complete it 3 times after i first finished it :D

Those inputs you listed aren't much different from (XXY, XXXY, XX->XY, XX>XYY) as seen in NG. And there's not much variation from weapon to weapon, so each can have their own "button mashing" tendencies.

However there are abundant moves for each one, which gives NG the edge in terms of it's system mechanics, coupled of course with the projectiles and magic use. Saying one is worse than the other due to 'buttonmashing' is awkward because every game has some form of it.

joke? Ninja Gaiden has better fighting mechanics than most fighting games.

It may meet or exceed a handful of other fighters/beat-em-ups but the better 2D/3D fighters (which hold the majority) easily surpass it.
