i do agree that PC gaming is more of a hobby than console gaming. you build a PC rig, fiddle with mods, etc. console is just plug and play (though LBP and XNA are attempting to change that).

PC gaming is expensive, yet you probably pay $50 a year for XboxLive and $400 every three years for a new console (ish) which actually increases with every generation so it will probably be $600 standard next gen. You can buy a good range PC for $500 every four years and it will run all those games and do the stuff you need a PC to do and you have the freedomwhich PC gaming offers, that is, a large amont of peripherals including a mouse and keyboard and you get the joy of modability of games. So I think it works off as fairly even with modern console gaming, the only difference being that PCs get cheaper with advancements of technology whereas consoles seem to get more expensive with each generation.

You can allways buy pirate games easier for PC and not spend lot of money instead of buying 2 console games (2 console games are 120$) or even if you buy original pc games they are lot cheaper

I never said that people need to upgrade their old pcs.. I am pointing out there are amazing older games out there that people should play.. Baldur's Gate 2 come to mind and it ran on my old 333mhz computer back int he day.. Of course my new set up is alot better then that.. But you get the point.

Yeh, true, but I mean even if you are too lazy to put it together yourself, if you do a bit of research, you can get one custom built for a very very reasonable price (ie. NOT DELL dunno if is the same way in the states, but in the UK, eveyone thinks Dell is really cheap and I got my PC custom built to my own specs at £300 (roughly $550) cheaper than what Dell offered me).

Yeh, and also you have to pay XboxLive fees of $50 which, with a lifecycle of about 4 years, adds an extra $200 to it. Not to mention lots of microtransactions like map updates and extra stuff. With PC gaming, online is free and patches and mods are usually released free of charge.

Yes, Trauma Center, Condemned, Rez, Zach and Wiki, No More Heroes, Little Big Planet, Eternal Sonata, are all very "commercial." Seriously, where do you get this. Have you even tried consoles? I can say that I've given PC gaming a try (and still do, sometimes). Citing movie licensed games as the only credible console experience is like me stating that the only thing available on PC is "Pirates of the Caribbean" online.

and btw, I've been gaming since the Atari 2600. and i've gamed on "PCs" that used cassette tapes, and remember when Zork was a cutting edge RPG. i think i've been into gaming "for {sic} longer period of time you will understand that there are games WORTH PLAYING."
