Well, when I think about that, the only reason I can think of is if you only have the PS3. When I ask the same question but switch it up with the 360, why should you get GTA IV for the Xbox 360, I get these reasons:

- exclusive episodic content (exclusive episodes)

- acheivements (it really adds to the game)

- rumble (i just can't imagine GTA IV using the sixaxis well it was perfect with dual shock)

- xbox live (the best gaming online service for the multiplayer aspects of the game)

- gamer pictures, gamer themes, face plates (if they look sick i might just have to get them)

Anyway back to the topic: Why should you get GTA IV for the PS3? What are your reasons?

The controller if you like the PS3's controller better and possibly more disc content cause of blu-ray. But either way both PS3, 360 and most likely PC owners will be able to play the game. So in the end everyone wins except for Wii owners.

The primary reason would be owning a PS3 and not an X360.

1. special content could be well already on the Blu-ray make u for thpse disks can hold 50gb so there 4 it could have more variety like another area as such

2 PS3 would have home by then which is just like xbox live

3 dont u think there bringin the rumble back

3. dont 4get psn is gettin better plus we dont need to play online like live

It should be obvious...that the biggest reason is if they ONLY own a ps3 and not 360...

Anyways, PS3 could get rumble controllers by that time and have something to do with HOME with the trophy room or something...

This is why I support all systems, I get to play the best version of any game that I want to play8)

Points 2, 3 and 4 are valid, but number 1 is wishful thinking, for the special content at least.

I don't agree, you're wrong. Achievements do add to the game. Here's an example, in previous GTA games you are free to do whatever you want such as car jacking people. Now with achievements, imagine if you car jack 100 people you can get an achievement for that! So instead of just car jacking people for the fun of it, you can do it to get some achievement points. Also in previous GTA games, there's always hidden items for you to find. I think it would just be more rewarding if you get achievements in finding all of them. For example, in Gears Of War, if you got this specific achievement, you got rewarded with an unique gamer pic. Well these are just a couple of examples on how achievements can add to to the replayability of a game. Same goes with the up coming trophies. It's a game within a game.

Can't really see a reason for getting this for the PS3, unless you have one and not a 360. I can't even imagine the graphical divide will be that much better by this point.

Of course, that doesn't mean the PS3 version isn't worth getting, Rockstar isn't going to drop the ball.

I don't have a PS3 or 360 yet and I'm buying GTAIV for the PS3.

And if anyone knows me then know I'm a huge GTA fan. I would be beyond surprised if Rockstar didn't have "exclusive content" for the PS3 too, so they can try and entice people to buy both versions to get the full experience.

The PS3 version migh tlook better, we dont know yet. And I still dont know if the PS3 version is using the full Blu-Ray disc space or keeping it on th esame level as Xbox 360's 9GB capacity.

So while the PS3 version is definitely missing some things, it might have some small advantages (also not sure what the built-in Hard Drive will do for the game)

Considering the sum of money paid by Mircosoft to secure that content, it is fair to say the X360 will have bonus content the PS3 won't have.

That said i'm not a GTA fan myself, so its of little consequence either way.

I just don't see it as logical to buy a PS3 on the sole basis for GTA4.

Of course, the sort of person who buys a next gen console just for one game has problems anyway. :P

HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA

Just because there's more space available doesn't mean Rockstar is going to swoop at the chance and create all new cities just for the ps3 version bwahahaha. ESPECIALLY when Microsoft paid rockstar 50million to keep all episodic content (the extra content) as exclusive for 360 :) so if a couple of exclusive episodes costs 50million to keep on one console, don't expect rockstar to add ALL NEW CITIES for the ps3 just because there's space to, bwahaha, well, maybe if sony can summon up a 100 million for rockstar, which they can't, because they're poor now (in their gaming division)

- xbox live (the best gaming online service for the multiplayer aspects of the game)

Anyway back to the topic: Why should you get GTA IV for the PS3? What are your reasons?

1. Maybe, we'll get ours later.

2. Home Trophies.

3. We'll probablyseethe new controller design that will feature a new type of rumble.

4. Free Online

5. We'll probably see some kind of themes from the PS3 after E3.

No.
If there's any more DLC for GTAIV (not the episodic content since that's STRICTLY 360 only), then it will be for 360 too. So if anything, the 360 will always have more GTAIV content. Unless sony magically gets 100 million to slip in rockstar's pocket :P which they can't because like I said, Sony is poor in their gaming division.

PS3 fanboys think it's a good thing having to spend all that money on new controllers just for the Rumble Function. And Xbox Live will always be loads better than the free internet.

Yeah, PS3 is more appealing to me, I'm just starting with GTAIV.

I really do think PS3 will get bonus content too though. I'm sure 360 will have its own content but I fully expect Rockstar to try and make as much money as possible from both systems. Well, Take Two, not Rockstar. I mean, the LE shows they want to exploit fans for as much money as possible so its very possible they do "exclusive content" for PS3 too.

Either way, I have a friend with a 360 so I'll get to play the exclusive content for 360 eventually, which probably makes my decision to get GTAIV for PS3 a lot easier.

Not to burst anyones bubble here, but if you think Microsoft shelled over $50m only to have Rockstar release equal amounts of content on the PS3 you are thinking very wishfully indeed. Microsoft undoubtedly made a contract ensuring the X360 version was superior in terms of content.

The ps3 version will have a longer load time therefore it will be a longer game than the 360's

Or they could preload stuff onto the HDD and then the ps3 version will perform slightly better.

Personally I'd rather have it for 360.

Well, not quite. It all depends on the quality of said content. But if it's true that MS forked over $50 mil then I would guess that the 360's content will be better. The whole problem I see is that we have no idea on price or what the content is. It's episodic and supposedly 10 hours long per episode but that doesn't say much.

Was there not an announcement stating "Episodic Content Exclusive for X360". That aside, if any content came out for the PS3 there would be no rational reason to think it would be better than the X360's considering the sum of money involved.

Which brings me back to my original point.

Anyway back to the topic: Why should you get GTA IV for the PS3? What are your reasons?

[QUOTE="Ezgam3r"]Depends on how good the content is. Quantity =/= QualityKirbyFan10101

Which brings me back to my original point.

Just because you spend more money on something doesn't mean it will turn out good.

Killzone 2 has a (alleged) $40+ million budget, one of if not the most spent on a game. Does that mean it will be the greatest game ever?

It certainly doesn't, but more content is more content regardless of its quality, and considering the pedigree of the GTA series (as opposed to the Killzone series) its highly unlikely that the content be so terrible that it adds nothing to the game whatsoever.

What exactly is your assertion here?

Anyone who doesnt think the ps3 version will get something from rockstar is in for a big suprise. I mean if it wasnt for the ps2, GTA series wouldnt have been as successful as it is. In my mind GTA is just a fun game but thats all it is, there is no challenge to it, and there is really no type of stradegy in the game which is 2 big areas in games that makes a great game. I am not saying GTA is a bad game but seriously man what is so cool about it, that makes it so fun? This is coming from some1 who loved my ps2 more then I loved my xbox and gamecube. I mean I know GTA shattered records in sales but, the game in my mind is really overrated, I mean if u say the game is heck of fun, I can agree with that, but honestly, what makes it and all around amazing game? Does it have the challenges of a Ninja Gaiden or a Devil May Cry? Does it have the story telling of a Final Fantasy 7 or a Metal Gear Solid? Does it have Stradegy like a Zelda or a Kingdom Hearts? Does it have combo's like in in a Tekken or DOA game? These are just a few things I wanted to ask since I play all types of different games but when I play GTA, its like boring to me, because theres not really none of these things in there. I dunno maybe I just have to give the game more of a chance but, I still dont understand why its the best selling ps2 game. Anyways I will be picking up the xbox 360 version of course, but the fact is this game will sell like crazy but I still dont see what is so amazing about the game, remember this is just my opinion, so dont hate me for not really enjoying one successful game, ill be picking up the new one since everyone else will be doing it, lol.

The thing is money matters. Microsoft paid good money for it. Sony didn't.

Sony is bringing back rumble to the controller so that fixes that issue, as well as the fact that Rockstar may incorporate trophies or add GTA4 related content into HOME but ultimately the only reason is that you are a ps3 owner really.

1.) Achievement points are for fan boys, like my cousin. Though HOme will be out then and probably have trophy case awards.

2.) Who said the PS3 isn't getting extra stuff? They just aren't paying for anything.

3.) Saying Live benefits? None of the GTA's have been online yet, so thats invalid. Saintas row was but seamed stupid.

4.) PS3 has more disc space incase they want to goof with more content.

5.) Rumble maybe out by then as well, BUT I don't miss rumble what so ever. I even play God of War II on my PS3 because I simply don't care about rumble.

Oh yeah another reason I'm getting it for the 360 is for Custom Soundtracks. I love listening to the corky things you hear while you're driving in GTA but it's just an added bonus if you can play your own Custom Soundtracks. I'll probably rent it like a couple months after it release for the PS3, just to see if there is any difference or what not.
