Why so much FFX hate?

Why does everyone hate this game?

Voice acting was top-notch, graphics were superb, had the best FF story with the best characters.(arguably). And the gameplay was a step-up from previous final fantasy's.

And it had a wonderful ending.

Mainly because it plays more like an interactive DVD than a game.Stonin

I didnt know there was a lot of FFX hate. FFXII hate yes. But most people I hear about FFX love it.

Sure they complain about the way Tidus looks but thats about it.

yes im sure 100+ hours of ONLY GAMEPLAY is interactive DVD to you..pfft what more do you want,,and everything else was amazing.and have you seen anything more beautiful than the farplane ?

I personally didn't enjoy it because of its linearity, its cast of characters that were too much like ones in previous games, boring battle and levelling systems, and its melodramatic cheesy story.

Which is why I loved FFXII sp much. It addressed all of these issues.

What's with all the threads about all the hate for X game that was quite popular and not many people hated it? Do the topic creators secretly hate the game and want all the haters to come out and sing with them? Or you that insecure that one persons opinion makes you doubt life?kryloc

The characters and the story were "awful" by Final Fantasy standards.

Look. At the time of its release the game was freaking awsome!

I'm finally playing through it and it is a wonderful game. Still looks amazing and the soundtrack sounds amazing, plus it plays like a charm and draws you into the world of Spira.

Oh, and the voice-acting sucks so bad. If you really think this is top-notch voice acting... well... you might need to get out more.

Omg, these "Why so much hate" for games that are merely critized need to be stickies a warning and suspension, they are so pointless threads.

Its called "Different Tastes" ... and theres barely any hate towards FF10 ...

No, I just don't like things that appeal to the homosexual comunity

Clearly... Thats what Japanese art embodies..:roll: I have no problem with a person disliking a game, it just bothers me when I see rediculous statements like this.. To me you sound like a 10 year old who can't handle a differen art work because its "different".

Bad voice acting, horrible art direction, boring characters, linear gameplay, uninteresting story, second rate villians...

I couldn't stand to finish FFX to tell you the truth. There may be people who liked the game but meh, not my cup ol' tea.

FFX was brilliant, but Tidus was a right lil girl. If only they improved on X2 :( Had so much potential.

it was boring (and too long). they should of just made it into a movie because it sure as hell wasn't a fun game to play imo.

What are u guys smoking?

Maybe because:

• terribly drawn-out ending
• didn't place nearly as much emphasis on Yu Yevon as it should have
• crap lead characters who I felt no connection with
• mixed voice acting; lines delivered with the enthusiasm of a porno
• Seymour was too poofy for a villian and lacked charisma
• controlling the Aeons as if they were a normal character was a weak addition
• the huge, monster-filled plains that you had to roam across on foot
• frequent level grinding (ties in with the above reason)

But hey, at least Yuna was moderately attractive...

A lot of people praise it.
It is the most popular of the FF games after FFVII.

But for me...ugh, the one that I dislike the most =(
Mostly, the linear gameplay and story. I mean. The world (spira) is just an island ... like a line.
What I mean, is that there's no point in the game that get's you wondering .. What should I do next ?
No, it's always just going to the end of Spira and that's it. I hate that about the game, and also that it always
tells you where to go.
