I don't see whats the big deal. I mean personally, since its a portable device, its more convenient to have all ur games as downloaded content then in discs so u dont have to be switching discs when ur out on a trip or something. blazingneo32089
well for starters theres the fact that we are fairly late in the gne and would you really want to have to rebuy every game you had on your regular PSP?

What if u never had a PSP? Like urs truly?then itd still prob be better to get an old psp anyways for a few reasons
1. its cheaper
2. Im not sure HOW retroactive this is, there might be some old gems on the platform like Daxter and RC Size matters youll miss out on because of this. (I could be wrong though...)
plus this is more expensive and te first official review it recieved said how it wasnt worth the money and how the controls on it were really awkward to use.
It would be all right if it had any meaningful new features to back up the Apple-wannabe pricetag.
Aside from the digital content, which I'm sure will not be good for everyone.

Problem being, with the battery life only lasting for 3-6 hours of gameplay, you really wouldn't need a ton of games before the battery dies. And since the Go has moved to an embedded battery, you can't even bring a backup, if you were wanting to game all day away from home.
Finally, my problem with the Go is that they intend to charge the same price for DD games as those at retail, even though they didn't have to print the UMD, print the manual, provide the case, ship it all to a retailer, and then give said retailer a cut of the price. And with that DD copy I can't lend it to a friend or sell it if I'm don't want to keep it in my collection., both of which I could do if I stayed with the UMD.

For the future, Google is your friend.lol, I still think the controls look awkward (based on that first review it recieved) and its overpriced though, Im just fgonna stick with my 3000, IDK about this guy though, IMO I think itd be smarter for him to go with a 3000 or even a 2000.
Because you can do the whole downloadable games thing on a regular PSP, still have UMD support, have a bigger screen and have the same battery life for less money than a PSP Go. The Go is a downgrade that cost almost $100 more.
Let's ignore the Bluetooth, 16GB of internal flash memory, smaller size and weight, and the flip screen.Because you can do the whole downloadable games thing on a regular PSP, still have UMD support, have a bigger screen and have the same battery life for less money than a PSP Go. Lucky for me, PSP Go is $249.99 Canadian, which is about $220 US.

The same reason why there was so much hate/doubt for the DSi.
Brawl578
two different situations
DSi is: a new console, that actually has games (DSiware) that can't be played on DS, introduces a new way to play games (camera for augmented reality games and such), media features unseen on the platform (music, photo editing), and Nintendo has confirmed Nintendo DSi games will be shipped to stores at some point in the future that only work on the Nintendo DSi. They could have more than the standard 256MB storage, or use the DSi's hardware which is 2-4 times more powerful than the DS Lite
PSP Go is: a cheaper, yet more costly version of a $170 handheld, it will have no new games, literally has no hardware increase over PSP 3000, introduces one new feature (blu tooth), doesn't offer a new way to play games coz sony just can't add a darn 2nd analog stick even though they did it with the PS1 by adding the DS1 mid-life, it strips the UMD drive so unlike the DSi, it isn't BC with PSP software until you pay for the same games you can find cheaper used, or already own on the PSN store.
rumor has it that some retailers were actually upset enough about PSPs very low NA sales, (well all of its sales really outside of JP) and the reason why PSP Go is $250 instead of say, $200 , is to give retailers a bigger cut of profits, since they were getting little profits off the little amount of PSPs they sold the last two years. PSP hasn't been selling very well in NA for a while now. But that is just a rumor, no proof of it being true what so ever
so summary, DSi is a new console. that can't be denied, it has a new way to play games, new games only playable on it, and new games will be sold at stores only for it
PSP go, is just a PSP without a UMD drive
seriously i may buy a 3000 next year (my 2nd psp it would be) for $170 and a 16GB memory stick for $30.
i just don't understand the Go. other than a profitable business stand point yea it makes sense, but the PSP go won't be a nex gen PSP.
but Nintendo could make the DSi into their new gen of DSs (new gen! not nex gen!lol) i'd think the fact that they confirmed DSi only game cards is confirmation of this "new gen" but will it be like, DS being a new gen over GBA even though DS wasn't suppose to replace GBA? or will it be GBC new gen over GB, with most GBC games working on GB? only time will tell
That kinda reminded me of when the PS3 was announced. Its a nice looking hardware and really looking forward to it, until sony reveal the price.

Too late in the game and too expensive; it if came out earlier in the PSP lifecyle then I would be all for it. However not being a huge fan of handhelds anyway I am more catious with my money when it comes to those platforms.
$250 for a smaller PSP that's missing a UMD drive. The downloadable games are available for all models so it's not something to buy a Go for...

Considering that the smaller size and lack of UMD should reduce the price, Bluetooth(?) and 16GB of flash memory($30) don't even begin to make up for the rest of the cost. Please Log In to post.
