Here's a question.
Who would pay for HOME if it actually costed money?Lto_thaG
People are paying for online clothing, furniture, and homes in Home, I don't think Sony needs to charge money for it, just not give the user anything for their little online Home or avatar, then they'll buy new stuff for their avatar and home.

I know, but who would still pay for the service of HOME.[QUOTE="Chaos_HL21"][QUOTE="Lto_thaG"]Here's a question.

I know, but who would still pay for the service of HOME.Probably not that much, Depens on how much it is. If it is $3-5 a month (or maybe $10 every other month) I could see people paying for it.

10$ a month is a lot :P...120 dollars for a whole year.But it's just an estimate.10$ a month is a lot :P...120 dollars for a whole year.But it's just an estimate.Lto_thaG
Every other month, which would be around $60 a year. It is a price I think people would be willing to pay. Charing $5 a month would be the same as $10 every other month. For $3 a month it would be $36 a month, would would probably be the most resonable.

Because?
Because? I'm not sure why, I said I could see people paying for that much ($3-5 a month) for what Home gives. (I wouldn't) But I think that is the max people would pay.
[QUOTE="Chaos_HL21"]People are paying for online clothing, furniture, and homes in HomeJandurin:| It's sad that I believe you. 360 users pay for themes and what not. Its not surprising at all, depends on how much people bought. I havent bought anything yet but i might buy a house or something just to support sony, its not a hard concept.
Here's a question.Exactly. It's free and IMO it still costs too much. I played it twice and both times I thought it was pointless and boring. I think that's the reason so much trolling goes on in home, at least it's something to do.

In response to Donaldbane. (Couldn't quote damn GS!)
It'll grow, they'll add a ton of content, imagine being able to watch movies through home "Streamed" just an example, Home will grow into a great service, just don't look at it like a game even tho it sort of is, it's a service first, that's in Beta, which means their fixing load times and adressing bugs, content will come...

It takes a few minutes for just a trailer to load, can you imagine how long it would take for an entire movie to be streamed? And why would I go through the hassel of home if I could just rent one off of PSN? You're right though they will continue to add content, but then the question is, how long will people continue to care about Home?Hmm maybe more people would play it if they charged, since they'd be curious about home and since they paid the month subscription they'll feel more forced to play it and then maybe become interested?? instead of just downloading, opening it, saying this sucks and never opening it every again (which is what most people seemed to have done)Brainkiller05
You got a point there m8,
if people pay for Home they will be sticking there heads into it more
making more use of its (less) features
I don't understand. the article has nothing to do with your claim. wanna try this one again?http://www.computerandvideogames.com/article.php?id=205467

of course, the questions will remain: 1.) why would I want to watch a movie smaller than full screen or in 3rd person view, slightly behind my avatar person? that's what I was asking myself the first time I went to the theater. In fact, why would I use HOME for that at all when I can just go to the store and do the same thing? it really all feels like a new way for them to try to hawk products, masquerading as something to do. But I do have some ideas on how they could make home rock. For example, do a couple official FREE movie premieres on Home. for real movies. before they go to theaters. and host major game tournaments in a Home stadium. that's the next level. In response to Donaldbane. Dreams-Visions
That was one of things that made me laugh about the whole thing...Why would you want to:
A. Look at trailers in HOME when your PS3 has a browser in it and you can watch it in fullscreen in a higher resolution?
B. Watch a movie in HOME when your PS3 is a friggin Blu-ray player and has the ability to download HD movies?
It's incredibly silly. Not to mention the knuckleheads doing the robot in front of you while you are trying to do this......

My girlfriend LOVED walking around the movie theatre, she'd run up to every poster and examin it, she'd see publicity for some trailer and would go searching for the room to watch it, I kind of liked it not being full screen, it sort of helped the feeling of having gone to a movie theatre, but a full screen option would be nice. Those are good ideias btw :P Theres a ton of cool stuff that could be done in Home, I think we should try to give more constructive critisim and ideias rather then everyone just saying "lamezorz". A free movie every week would also be cool :P You'd see the theatre fill up every week on the day they premeire and stuff, it could be fun. Hopefully will see the big dogs "Activision Blizzard", "EA" and so on getting their creative minds working on something for Home, I'm pretty sure sony has already confirmed support from a lot of the big dev's and companies. In closing I think to many people walked into home with the mindset of a game, and forgetting it is in Beta, either that or it's just me thinking about it's potential. In response to Donaldbane. It's been in Beta for damn near a year. and progress has been extremely slow. I can't say anything about Home has justified the length of development time or financial investment. we'll see what Home becomes. In closing I think to many people walked into home with the mindset of a game, and forgetting it is in Beta, either that or it's just me thinking about it's potential.Eddie-Vedder
I think it has a lot of potential.
As I said before just imagine the sells they would make if a Final Fantasy area was added. If $1 million has already been spent on customizations already in game just think of the possibilties for game related items.
Metal Gear Solid and Resident Evil area please!

Not that I'll be spending much on microtransactions, but if Home lives up to what I think it can, imagine being able to buy a sackboy outfit! Profit! I'm more excited about the features we get tho, I wanna see leaderboard rooms in there, that would make the competitive side of PSN go up a bunch. Please Log In to post.
