Why Streek Fighter X Tekken????

I would rather see Street Fighter X Mortal kombat or at least Capcom X Namco. Tekken is so shallow, and has been going downhill from Tekken 3, and (as far as I know) nobody in Tekken has projectiles . I am extremely disappointed with this new announcement. I guess I have to wait until MvC3 and the new Mortal Kombat game comes out.

I'm pretty sure its two different games. Street Fighter X Tekken is 2D. Tekken X Street Fighter is 3D. I'm 80% sure

because its amazing and mortal combat already had its crossover with DC, if you don't like the idea don't worry about it, but since i love tekken and like street fighter i don't see how i lose here

Haha, Tekken being shallow? Street Fighter is the shallowest fighter out there. The fact that Street Fighter III was less shallow and was poorly received, and the fact that it had a counter move and was removed for SF4 implies that SF fans can't handle complexity above that of SFII level.

Tekken has combos, sidestepping, countering, parrying, 3rd dimension, and a list of moves that couldn't fit into your palm.

And fundamentally, Tekken is about punishing. SF is about spamming. Spamming is shallow.

The letters T and K are quite far apart.

Saying a fighting game series is better over another because of reviews, and saying Vitura Fighter is one of the worst fighting game series says to me that he's not into the genre.

the thing about all modern popular fighting games is that they have as much depth as you put in to them, tekken can be very deep if you take the time to learn it in and out, same goes for street fighter, its all about how much of a commitment your willing to put in to it

Does anyone ever find it funny that Street Fighter III is treated as if it didn't ever exist? So Tekken gets the 'downhill' stigma while SFIII is dropped from the picture, and SF fans assume only SFII and SFIV existed. So it maintained it's standard.

Yes they are games and I counted the remixes as well considering they are a part of the street fighter franchise.

Anyways I forgot Death by Degrees which makes the lowest Tekken game 52 but Gamerankings is not really as accurate of a source as gamespot imo.

I'm going to say that Tekken X Virtua Fighter would have been a far more interesting idea given both are 3-D fighters and have a close history against each other. Right now, I'm not really into the idea of Street Fighter X Tekken. it just seems really weird to mesh two different types of fighters and hope it works without .

Capcom vs SNK worked because Capcom and SNK were well-known for 2-D fighters and the crossover between the two companies felt natural. The problem with making a crossover with Tekken and Street Fighter is the question of how they will mesh together into one game. Unlike SNK games which played like Street Fighter, Tekken has a different set of rules and I can't see how it would really work.

I would have preferred seeing Capcom VS SNK 3 and Tekken Vs Virtua Fighter. Those crossovers would have felt more natural(the two top 2-D and 3-D fighting game franchises pitting off against each other).

Tekken 6 sold as much units as Street Fighter IV, but did it much better in the arcade saloon scene. I will not support my statements based only in sales, but sales wise bot Street Fighter IV and Tekken 6 are unimpressive compared to the ones from Tekken 3 or SSBB.

Most people never even heard of tekken whereas so much people that has never even played a video game knwos teh street fighter name.

I agree with some parts. I don't think Tekken is the greatest franchise just because of reviews because 3rd Strike got like a 70% review and it's MUCH better than that.

However, Tekken and Street Fighter are the two best fighting franchises which is why they're going head to head.

Games got "too complex" which caused the genre to die, or so believes the developers and producers.

That's why SSF4, Tekken 6, SSBB are all worse than their predecessor.

Street Fighter and Tekken are my two all time favourite fighting franchises, I'm stoked for this game. As someone said above Street Fighter x Tekken > Tekken x Street Fighter.

I can't see how SF will work with the more 3D gameplay of Tekken. Also the amount of moves tekken has dominates Street Fighter.

To each their own but I can't think of a 3D fighter as good as Virtua Fighter 5 Online. Also Street Fighter> Soul Calibur> Tekken. Dead or Alive is at the bottom for me a long with Mortal Kombat.

Soul Calibur is a franchise in free fall, as much as I love rouletting the Siegfried stances the game has no future after SC IV, whereas Tekken 6 was a success in arcades and tournaments and sold over SC IV marks.

Paul vs Ken should be an epic match up. That alone warrents a purchase.

Quite frankly I find Metacritic to be the most on the mark imo at least.

I hate that Namco and Capcom are milking this game already with 2 games....

They could have just made one game with 2 different styles.

hopefully there's a Special Collectors edition that comes with both other than that I'm getting Street Fighter vs Tekken and not Tekken vs Street Fighter.
