Why the hate on Resistance 2?

I thought it looked amazing. It does kinda annoy me when cows lie to themselves saying it looks better than gears. It doesnt, but to me it looks like a lot of fun. Especially the huge monster and the chimera (unarmed) when a horde of them attacks you. Im not saying its going to be better than gears. But i dont get why everyoneimmediatelyis saying this game is bad.

Resistance 2 does not look better than Gears 2. Killzone 2 does though.

I will admit that the graphics that we saw at E3 werent impressive, except the chimera that hale was battling. However, i do not beleive that those graphics are anything close to what the final version will look like, or they are taking a step backwards. However, as far as gears goes, i think killzone 2 does have better graphics, and MGS4 is pretty close as well. I tried to make that as least fanboysih as completely possibletmacscores91

Insomniac have stated that some of the footage shown at E3, especially the large boss battle, is still missing some of the finishing touches. I noticed a lot of the surfaces look very bland, but apparently it's because they haven't applied the surface textures and whatnot that will be visible in the final product.

Unlike many developers, Inomniac isn't terribly concerned with showing off completed aspects of their game. The final game will look better than what was shown at E3.

I'm looking forward to R2. the multiplay mainly. Its going to be one giant cluster-f*** of a frag fest and I will love every minute of it.Ice_N_Fire

insomniac are not like that so much, they are more bothered by gameplay and interesting guns. thats what they focused on in the demo, the guns. If they say its not finished, who are we to disagree?

if you compare the epic gears 2 trailer and that one then you get why, im not saying that because im being a fanboy its just the truth. what they have shown of resistance (especially scince its due before the holiday season) has been underwheling to say the least. thegoldenpoo

Yeah he is are you? Gears 2 has slightly better lighting then gears 1 and only a fanboy will deny that. Maybe you should be hyping it as a great fun game instead of a graphic power house. Because it looks good, but there are alot of games that look better. Its going to be a fun game, lemmings should be hyping that.

If you've downloaded Sony's press conference on your PS3 and watched it on an HDTV, the current graphics are VERY impressive. Unlike Gears 2, the game sports high res textures AND a very vibrant color scheme. The lighting and weapon detail are also very impressive. I wouldn't go as far as to say the game looks "better" than Gears 2... but only because they are two very differently styled games. Likewise, after viewing both games on an hd set, I can't easily say that Gears 2 looks better either. The truth is that it is going to come down to personal preference... One is a dark gritty shooter, the other is a large scale, atmospheric fps. I'm more intrigued by Resistance 2 at this point, but I'm looking forward to both games.

Hopefully the game will be decent. I don't care if the graphics are worse than Gears or better, but I want the gameplay to be somehow decent and not boring.

We will let KZ2 deal with Gears in the graphics department:P

Gears 2 looks great. To me it doesn't look that much different than the first Gears... but that one looked great also. The first Gears looked significantly better than Resistance. But Gears 2 does not look so significantly better than Resistance 2. In fact, when you view both games on an hdtv, you actually see plenty of things that R2 is already doing better than Gears 2.

I think I may like the gritty atmosphere of Gears 2 better. But the textures in R2 are looking equal to Gears 2. The lighting is looking better in R2. And the color pallette is a matter of personal opinion... but the alien infested atmosphere of a 50's/60's America really does look quite beautiful. Odds are that those that are bashing R2's graphics have not seen the trailers or Sony's press conference on a 1080p set yet, period. It's like comparing Bioshock to Gears. Bioshock is still the best looking game on the 360 imo (until Gears 2 gets here), but R2 looks at least 4-5x better than Bioshock in its current state... and it'll probably look even better by the time it releases.

The first one was really good, and this one will be even better.

AAA score, no question.

you do realize that boss fight was unpolished right? insomniac didnt go out of there way to impress at e3 like everyone else, thats why i love em, they would much rather actually work on the game as a whole at once instead of putting extra people on polishing up a certain section for a showing

I can't believe that PS3 fanboys are actually comparing R&C to a pixar movie. Wow it doesn't even look as good as the first Toy Story. Jeez you guys are so off.Ilived

oh its not just the sony fans that compare it to a pixar movie, fans of every console do, the game does look incredible, its not quiet up to a pixar film level yet, but it is really getting close

the first one was mediocre at best

and the new trailers and gameplay vids haven't shown me anything particularly new or exciting.
