I disagree. I play primarily on my PC and I would argue that I have just as much fun (which is rather subjective, anyways) as people with multiple platforms.

Exactly. PC has lots and lots of games that are superior to these "greatest games ever" on consoles, for it has higher standards. The only thing he would be missing out on is some great platformers. If he doesn't care about that genre then he is set.

Agreed. I always buy a console, because im told these games are great(only one that actually was, was uncharted 1 and 2)then i dont play it because its not as fun and i dont care for platformers. Basically my friends end up using it about 90% more than i do, especially now that games arent being splitscreen often.

If those games were made available on the PC my interest in them would be greater. The fact that they are only available on an inferior system limits my interest.
I love PC gaming! However, I can't imagine only gaming on a PC and missing out on two of my favorite games, MGS4 and God of War.:D

Learn to iso. Seriously, dealing with that many disks must be a huge pain, some you can install fully but there are still quite a few that use disk check DRM. Though you make a good point, it's great to have instant access to all your old games, it's a pain that you can't use all of them due to compatibility errors but still much better than a console where you're having to get access to a completely different machine to access your back catalog.markop2003

I see Forsaken. Easily the best Descent clone. Had jaw dropping graphics back in 1998. It's still looks pretty good today using the modded HD Widescreen version.

Eh, I don't know guys. Let's say you buy a second platform for 250-300$, and you have access to, what, 20 or so worthwhile games that you didn't before? You still have to buy them, so that's extra money. If you take that 250$ to a Steam (or other DD) sale, you could easily come up with 50+ games. I don't know it doesn't seem very logical to me.

Couldn't agree moreThere needs to be some type of therapy mod, pc gamers these days really seem like they are trying to overcompensate.
Developers focus more on consoles these days and that is a harsh reality that many of you need to deal with.
The glory days of pc gaming are over, accept it and move on.
Oh and I've played endless hours of CS mods and Day of Defeat so please don't call me an "ignorant consolite" or any other nonsense just because I don't worship the pc.

You should go look them up then. You may not care about them but others do. Over 95% of the games on the picture score a 7-9.5 on this website with the 5% other not reviewed at all here (gamespot this gen are very console centric) but have good metacritic and gameranking scores. I completely apologize that you are ignorant to these games but that is not my concern. Maybe you should investigate the games before criticizing them. There needs to be some type of therapy mod, pc gamers these days really seem like they are trying to overcompensate.

I'm a PC + console gamer and I disagree. You can survive with just one gaming system if you want to load up on AAs but the AAAEs on consoles are spectacular and people are missing out if they never get to try them.OP hasn't owned a console since 1995... that means never playing such gems as Zelda: Ocarina of Time, Super Mario 64, Goldeneye 007, Perfect Dark, God of War 1 through 3, Metal Gear Solid 3 and 4, Okami, Final Fantasy X or XII, Shadow of the Colossus, ICO, Ninja Gaiden Black, the Metroid Prime series, Zelda Twilight Princess, Wind Waker, Eternal Darkness, Red Dead Redemption, Halo 3, Gears of War 2, Bayonetta, Uncharted 1 and 2...
Don't get me wrong, there's only so much time in the world to just spend playing games. But certain games are or will become legendary and gamers are really missing out if it's not part of their common experience. Unfortunately exclusives have a way of doing that; limiting the audience that gets to enjoy gaming masterpieces. All the more reason to hail a multiplatform future, when great games can hopefully be enjoyed by all just as easily as movies can.
By the way, the reverse is obviously true. Console gamers are missing out on many, many excellent games if they never give PC gaming a chance. You don't even need a gaming PC to unlock the gems from before 2004, anytime you upgrade your desktop or laptop people are unlocking more gaming classics. So no excuses there.

Admittedly one clever trick is to wait until the end of a console generation and pick up the systems after their successors gets released -- cheap games, cheap consoles, and then repeat 6-7 years later. Same thing with gaming PCs, if you wait long enough you'll eventually be able to play the games you missed when the time comes to buy a new cheap computer. Using this technique you can stick to one system for most of your gaming needs and just check out the major titles you missed later.[QUOTE="argetlam00"]

Recently I've really been thinking that people in this place have blown the living hell out of preportion when it concerns the whole PC gamers superiority complex. This thread however is starting to prove them right.
I will have to call BS on the above. If only I had the patience now to bring an actual list... it wouldn't matter anyway...
One question though: How many of those games are actually well supported on Windows 7?mo0ksiquake 2 runs fine so where is the problem?
