WHY the Wii is a great gaming console(Virtual console and Price Cut added!)(56k)

Before Cows, Lemmings, and Hermits eat me alive here allow me to let you know thatYES I KNOW THE Wii HAS THE WORST NON-EXCLUSIVE LIBRARY!!!Yes it sucks that the Wii doesnt get very many multiplats and when they do usually they are inferior to the 360/PS3/PC versions of the game were usually better. So the Wii isnt even a competitor right...?

WRONG!

If you are one of those who likes to have 2 gaming systems(I'm pretty sure most of you here are) And you guys start out with a 360 for example and then you decide you want another console. Would you shell out $300 for a PS3 for the 6-7 games you cant get on the 360? I sure hope not. Same goes for a gaming PC although it would have more games but would cost a hell of a lot more.

That leaves the Wii... at $250 there are so many uniquue titles that you simply cant get anywhere else. And that sole reason is how the Wii differs from the HD twins (360 and PS3) And the a lot more accesible and affordable then the PC. While yes it misses out on multiplats it also produces a steady amount of quality exclusives.

REASON #1: Exclusives

Examples:

(Muramasa, madworld. House of dead, Boom Blox Bash Party, Excitebots ect.)

All of these came out in 2009 alone. And plus there are many more...

REASON #2: 1st Party

And yes another reason. The Wii has perhaps the best dev working for them. Nintendo itself.

Examples:

(Yes I realize that TP isnt exclusive merely just here to show how good of a dev nintendo is) And there are more...Lots of people own a Wii solely just for masterpieces made by Nintendo.

REASON #3: Virtual Console

Its no secret that WiiWare lacks behind PSN and XBLA. While it has some noteworthy titles( NyxQuest, World of Goo, Contra Rebirth, Bomberman...) it still lacks. But now Virtual Console on the other hand...

Wow, this is getting boring and annoying. Let me be the first to say, no matter what you say in terms of SW the Wii will always be lagging and denying it is complete and utter craziness.

I hate judging a game on its graphics...but really, after playing PC, PS3 and 360 those graphics are just downright dissapointing and really do put a damper on the gamplay.

Normally I'd agree but its all perception, essentially if you don't like the general theme of most wii games you'll hate the system. It has great games I will say but up to snuff in terms of quantity? Naw, it lacks in almost every area actually. I love the system but let's be realistic.

yes wii is still a good console, all consoles have good games. But sadly imo nintendo is not showing any near the amount of support they showed for it in quality games that they did with gamecube and N64.

This has to stop, yes the Wii is a great console, sure fire competetor and has the best and most exclusives this gen whether anyone likes it or not but that doesnt excuse the fact that it does indeed lack OVERALL library. It has a ways to go.

The Wii is a fantastic console. Many great games to be had. No matter what the haters say, it won't matter.

Basically, but the masses still have bought a lot of games so atleast they atleast had to have some taste for games to atleast purchase other ones. Granted Wii Sports was like the gateway drug.

Tbh with you I think ive only seen an anti wii thread like 5 times since Ive been in system wars. True a lot of people knock the wii, but I rarely see blatant anti wii threads. I see a lot more of these then I do of those >.>

I agree the Wii is an awesome system. I'm upset I had to sell mine but I was hurting for money. The time I spent with it was great though.

i like the concept of the wii. i own one. currently trying to sell it.

they needed to line up more quality 3rd party games.

you take away the exclusives and the wii has pretty much no games.

unless your a huge fan of mario. the wii going to get boring fast.

also what hurts the wii. and another reason i got bored quick. is there no cheap games and the good games almost never drop. look at the ps3 and 360 they have a ton of good cheap games.

overall i think. they did a ok job on the console. the online, graphics, and other stuff need a ton of work. but overall its a decent system. no way as good as i see it as a 360 or ps3. but not a bad second system if you have the money to lay out 50 bucks for every game.

There have been like 4 topics like this in the past week, and all of them were terribly made.

Also, Excitebots is such a great game, and 90% of the people here probably haven't heard of it.

The Wii certainly have some great first party title, but as a whole not really my cup of tea.

Yup, getting one mainly for the 1st party games and No More Heroes :P. Going wii60 the rest of this gen.
