1. It has the best games currently, and higher scoring multi-plats(based on avg review score).

2. It has the best upcoming titles in 07 (see IGN's E3 awards). This isnt really disputed. Even cows know they have nothing till 08.

3. Majority ofpeople dont have problems with their 360 hardware. I said majority, including me. And its not a bad thing knowing MS will take care of you for like, ever, if there is a problem.

4. Its still cheaper than ps3, and price dropping again soon.

I'd take 3 out of there and replace with something about LIVE...

Just because a system has great games does not mean it will win. Look at the Dreamcast that had many AAA games yet it still died. I am sorry I disagree with number 2 so it really is deputed. Number 4 they said the same thing last year and it never happened.

Why the 360 still may be in trouble...

1.Its getting eclipsed by the Wii in sales
2.It is still the most unreliable console and still isn't doing well in Japan.
3.PS3 and Wii have more new exclusive IPs
4.The Holiday season for PS3 and Wii have more room for actual hardware growth, with better software and lower hardware prices for atleast one of the consoles.
5.360 doesn't have a very impressive line-up for next year, or the year after that :|

who said MS has to win this gen. IF they can stay close this gen its a win. Sony loses if they have less than 50% the market. IF MS owns a lot more of the market and is atleast close with PS3 which it will be IMO considering it will have a much bigger lead over PS3 after this holiday.

THe wii split the market in 2. THe wii market(every type of gamer) and the hardcore next gen market(casuals and hardcore gamers) for the 360 and PS3. With the library of games it has, and big future upcoming titles, being the cheaper system with all major multiplats. Also while yes 360 is dead in Japan versus the other 2. MS has made some gains to get a foot into the door there. Blue Dragon, Eternal SOnota, and Lost Odyssey are a good beginning. Throw in major japanese multiplats like DMC 4 and Resident Evil 5. Microsoft needs to spend money on better marketing, because they have a good enough system to sell there.

One of 360's big problems is that their worthwhile exclusives (which are usually FPS or Kotor style RPG) all end up on PC eventually. I'm more than willing to wait a year to play those games with a keyboard and mouse.

Additionally, while I agree that the 3 year warranty is great, what would your reaction be if your 360 broke the day after your 3 year warranty expired? Would you be happy that microsoft provided full coverage for 3 years even though you never used it, and now that it's broken and out of warranty it's time to buy a new one, or would you feel a little burned knowing that it was a well documented problem that was never truly recalled or fixed?

Yeah but the 360 came out so much earlier then the other consols. Its had its time in the limelight for a lot longer then the ps3 or wii, so of course its going to appeal to more people...2,3, and 4 are both stupid arguments imo...the wii is cheaper the the 360, and 1/3 of anything breaking is raly bad...a majority would put M$ out of buisness most likely...and the seconds is a opinion of what games you like

Majority can be 51%. Defective 360's are 100%. Broken 360's are in the 30-40%.

So you're just lucky you didn't pick the 360 beside the one you picked up, because that one is broken.

.....wtf? Cows have an awful lot before 08. Besides sharing some of 07'sgreat gameswith the 360, COD4, Assassin's Creed, GTA4, they have a raft of their own exlusives, Heavenly Sword, Ratchet, Uncharted, Lairpossibly also Warhawk with Liitlebigplanet and MGS4 releasing Q1 for 08...cows have a lot to look forward to.

All I care about is the great games I have been able to play over the last year since I bought one. I got the 360 to basically kill time with until the PS3 had more reasons to own one, who would have thought that those reasons have still not shown up at the party.

I have a guy that wants to trade his PS3 for my Wii straight up and I seriously don't know if I'm going to go through with it.

I agree. My PS3 is still collecting dust since launch last year. Hopefully Lair will change that......... hopefully. As for the trade, I say go ahead. I consider the Wii far inferior to both the X360 and PS3 (in terms of both hardware and games). Atleast you'll get to play Heavenly Sword and Uncharted (good titles coming this year for the PS3).

And that's a good thing? So less than 50% of units for a $400 console aren't breaking down. Whoopdie-friggin-do.
The standard accepted defect rate for consumer electronics is 5%. The 360 has a failure rate estimated around 30%.

So don't try to put the 360's hardware issues in a positive light. There is no positive light. The system is failing at an acceptable rate, pure and simple.

Oh, and 2 is subjective and 4 is a rumor. Your list needs some work.

No one ould be happy if their 360 broke, regardless of when, but you do have to admit that 3 years is the BEST in the industry!farrell2k
It is. So what?
I view my 360 as essentially a ticking time-bomb, just waiting to fail. If it happens within the 3 years, I then send it back to MS and get it fixed for free. But them I'm still without a 360 for over a month because of a design flaw that MS should have stopped before even making the system.

The warranty is a consolation prize, really. Yeah, you don't have to pay, but your 360 is still dead.

1) yes but the ps3 is not even a year old yet and its getting alot of games now

2) PS3 has tons of great titles and saying it has the best is ur opinion, and yes the ps3 has 08 owned so far

3) everybody is going to have hardware problems. its an issue and if it hasnt happened to you it prolly will.

In a perfect world yes..But the world isn't perfect. My bowflex has had 5 design flaws, but they fixed the problem and I have no ill will towards them. All this is is a way to hate MS, which is fine. I have a 2 year warranty on top of the 3 year, so I don't worry about it...at all..I love playing it and os do my freinds and family.

#4 is just plain stupid. Even if the 360 had a 49.9% failure rate, the "Majority" would still not be having problems with their console. When is that failure rate unacceptable? When it surpasses 50%?

I bought a new car a year ago. GM offered a 7 year, 100,000 warranty. Toyota only offered the standard 3 year, 36,000 mile warranty. Can you guess which manufacturer got my business? Toyota, because they don't have to offer that kind of warranty. Sure, just like with the Xbox, I had a far longer warranty option with the GM vehicles. If something went wrong, I was covered. But that also tells me that they HAVE to offer than kind of warranty because their products are poorly engineered. Same with the Xbox. That's why I traded in my 360 for a PS3.

I'm thinking that I really don't give a rat's ass if my Gamespot posting priveledges are suspended or revoked. I'm an adult and the only reason I post messages on here is to kill time at work. If I can'twaste time here, there are only 17 million other sites on the web where I can waste time. My sig is honest, and if the mods don't like it, they can eat one. It's really pretty simple.

These sort of anecdotal stories about how people don't know anyone whose box has died have lost whatever little relevance they had with the official microsft announcement that yeah, alot of boxes have died.
