Good online would boost XBLA scores, aparently not enough.  VC can beat them even without online. 

Meh... scores mean nothing...

The virtual console games will never be playable online.  Nintendo's whole effort is to sell the complete original game that you would remember from a kid on the service.

I personally think that the Wii's Virtual Console is better because the massive library that is being uploaded to it, with some of the best games ever made.  

Right now I'll take Xbox Live because of Geometry Wars, however as soon as Super Mario RPG is released that will change.Sparky04

Sry, I'm using numbers because thats the only way to argue with cows or lemmings. If i was to list all the great games VC has they'd just come out and say "those are all crap, Nintendo VC is teh milkage" NATATO

Not really. My SNES is no longer working and games with actual 3D rendering look better on the Wii. SM64 best example.

While I will admit that the Virtual Console is overall better than Xbox Live Arcade, they both have their positives and negatives.

On the flip side, XBLA revamps the graphics, adds new features (online play, leader-boards, achievements) and are usually a pretty fair price (sometimes free: ie Texas Hold Em' Poker).

The whole idea is that Wii will have the largest library of games by the end of this gnerations (all Wii and GCs games + VC).

It's a lot better to have games from like 7 different concoles on one machine, than having all those concoles hooked up at the same time.

The problem is they're ports with no updates what so ever unlike xbla. I mean xbla has improved graphics in hd, leaderboards, co-op and vc doesn'tklabut

1) improved graphics in HD for arcade games?  I don't htink classic arcade games need to be played in HD, I they're actually better left alone (see the southpark with George Lucus and making fun of him upgrading star wars, they make a great point)

2) Leaderboards... So what.  Like i need to know im 12304956 in world at geomerty wars

Come one now.  Gotta throw Wii a bone.  The quality of VC has to make up for the lack of games on the Wii itself.  It's just too bad that Nintendo has to regurgitate old games, with little to no improvements over being simple ports.

Depends on your country, and how you're copying. In the the US of A, we have a wonderful little provision called the Digital Millenium Copyright Act which makes it illegal to circumvent any form of copy-prevention. However, at the same time we're legally allowed to make backup copies of copyrighted material, as long as there's no copy-protection. Yes, its stupid.

Anyway just about all video games have some fom of copy-protection on them, so in the States you can't make backup copies.

Yeah it's the same here. It's a moral choice, not so much one about whether or not you'll get caught or penalized. I agree with you though, it's not a valid reason to claim that VC is useless because you can just download them for free, and you are right again, VC are expensive, and in most cases, just over priced.drewtwo99

Most of them are overpriced. Some of them are well worth the purchase. I think they should do a pricing scheme where the less popular ones go down in price over time. Like the guns in CSS. I still have yet to buy any, seeing as how I have played most of them. But when Majora's Mask, Super Metroid, Metroid, Zombies Ate My Neighbors and a couple other come out, I am definitely setting down some cash.foxhound_fox

Both of them are like too entirely different markets. XBLA is like updating the classics, adding new content(kind of likeRemakes to say) and new games. VC is pretty much just a huge Rom/Emulator service...Legally.
