perhaps cause it sucked.

you need to play it first but my friend you wont because its no MP game

and beside, its not mainstream game that apeal to lowest common denominator thats why it was overlooked.

Its pure old school immersive sim. infact its most old school game of this gen when Doom is just mix of old school and modern elements. Prey is pure system shock style old school immersive game.

I decided to give it another go and TBH im enjoying it now im further in. The enemies are still annoying but the game is easily the closest thing iv played to SSHOCK2 since Bioshock.

Good to see. you gave it another chance after hating it since years.

Like is said its pure old school even more so than Doom because Doom is mix of modern and old school. this has no modern elements.

Bioshock suck anyways. it was simple shock with no inventory and big arrow show where to go and walking in straight line.

It's not quite as great on console. On a suitable PC it's glorious.

I tried to Finnish it on PC while it was on gamepass and couldnt. Got about halfway and stopped. The game is dynamic, has alot going on but in other ways falls flat. Couldnt get into the world/setting. The space station feels sterile. The enemy types are bland, it feels like I'm fighting a bunch of shadows. The resource management (I'm sure some like this) was very tedious for me.

I do appreciate the skill trees and alien powers.

The story I could care less about.

Still prefer Prey 2006, but Prey 2017 has some things going for it. Its more dynamic and less linear. The game has alot of trial and error, I saved alot for what I did play. Started to feel less fun after a while tho and just stopped caring. The artstyle is boring, it reminded me of waiting in the doctors office.

I got about half way through the game, maybe a bit more....lost interest. Lots of back tracking, same enemies. Combat was interesting at first, then it kind of felt overly repetitive for the handful of enemies you faced. You find a method that works best for on creature and you do the same thing over and over and over again.

I tried going back to my saved game about 6 months later, but I couldn't remember what the hell I was doing or where to go to progress the story and I didn't feel like starting over...I just uninstalled the game.

I enjoyed being out in space, thought that was fun. I spent more time out there sometimes when playing for an hour or so, exploring this and that over working on playing the actual story line.

I think I'd much rather install the first Prey game from 2006 and play through that again. Still got my physical copy tucked away.

@ghosts4ever:

Umm prey was never about being a system shock type game, you fool this games a fucking disgrace to preys original concept.

prey is about portal technology, not being a ''system shock clone'' .
