Why Wii sales compared with X360 and PS3's?

I really dont understand it, i mean the Wii is nothing like the 360 or PS3. Its what, 1/3rd of the power and probably in price as well.

When you look at the Wii, for a true gamer it really would be the last console you look at when choosing a new console. Its clearly a cheep alternative for kids and families, its really not the gamers choice. I may be degrading it a lot, but seriously its really not in the same league.

Sales should never be taken on face value in any generation, ever.

I say that as a Wii only owner too (so far at least).

Not at all the Wii is a good console, but for what it is marketed for. It should not be compared with the other two in my opinion, mostly for price reasons.

This is the new argument made by Sony/MS fans: Since the Wii is trouncing the **** out of our consoles, lets now pretend it is not a console in the same category as PS3/360. Face it: Sony/MS got obliterated by the Wii because they offered nothing new. Go Lair!

i agree - do you also notice that whenever you see a catalogue they only seem to advertise the 360 pro, especially at EB/gamestop? I'll bet most consumers don't even know there is a core system thats close to the wii's price
