It all goes back to 2006... Even though many things have changed since then both in the eyes of the public have that stigma of the ps3 being overpriced and sucking and the wii being a cheap fun must have system
i was meaning like i thought more people like ps3 better than wii since more people like ps2 than GCN.What do you mean "what's wrong with this?"
Nothing is wrong with it, people just prefer different things. The Wii appeals to a wide audience.

The market won't always work that way. Costs of consoles will play a role -- and was a major downfall of the PS3 at the beginning -- and there's also the fact that the Wii expands its target audience to include both gamers and "casuals".

This system was marketed and catered towards a larger demographic, thus allowing the potential for larger sales (which translated over positively).

I wish ps3 had a much larger collection similar to ps2. Wii also sets a new concept of gaming that the move is trying to copy so that also could be it. Pricing since Wii is cheaper and casual gamers like it better. Also what could this topic spoil? Do youeven know what spoilers mean...?

oh it appears to a wider audience and its easy for anyone to play without looking intimidating or hard to learn. thats basically the reason
Yuo will obviously find more people here that agree with you about this matter, the vast majority of Wii owners just aren't the sort of people that sit around arguing on a forum message board. The answer to your question is the Wii has a broad range market appeal, the PS3 and Xbox appeal mainly to the same age grouping and clearly aim for males and Nintendo have been aiming for everybody they possibly can, common sense dictates which one should sell more.
i agree but i thing there's more to it not only that, but wii is instant fun, people grab the control and they are having fun already add that the price tag and you got a great looking console game for people that always thought games were stupid. my girlfriend as one (well her family) and when i asked why did they got it her answer was "it was cheap and fun" i think that says alot, the 1st thing on her head was the price/fun ratio. what many people fail to see (myself included more times than i like) is that different people dance to different tunes, the wii does nothing for me (and for the record her's is gaining dust because that instant fun get old quick) as for alot of people the PS3 does nothing for them if the tc wanna state the biggest reason is like SapSacPrime said, much larger target imo(...) the PS3 and Xbox appeal mainly to the same age grouping and clearly aim for males and Nintendo have been aiming for everybody they possibly can, common sense dictates which one should sell more.

I am sorry, i just accident typed in Gt5...You like it for GT5? And it's not even out yet?

There are many reasons.
Everything about Wii is accessible, simple and intuitive. It's cheap, the console itself is white and clean, the name is short and visually it looks cool, everything is just simple.
The Wiimote resembles a regular TV remote, which people are comfortable with and can associate it with something they know about as opposed to the kinda complex looking PS360 controllers with many buttons which is scary.
Wii games are highly accessible thanks to many factors. The control scheme is intuitive as you move your hand like you do in real life, for example in Wii Sports.
Played Super Mario Galaxy 1/2? Then you have seen the HUGE menu buttons in game. It's very simple to just put the disc in and start playing, without tutorials or anything, the learning curve is integrated within the gameplay really well. This is a huge factor in games and is partially the reason why people praise Nintendo games for being incredibly polished.
Another thing is the lack of dual analogue, which means that the camera in 3D games has to be in a fixed position, unless it's like a FPS where the pointer replaces the second stick. Anyway, it's more simple to let the computer handle the camera, there is no need to look for stuff in awkward camera positions, everything is in front of you.
tl:dr; Wii is more accessible, simple and intuitive. It's cheaper. Marketing probably played a role in the success too.
Oh and let's not forget about the games. 1st party Nintendo games speak for themselves.
