If you have been wondering, what makes sheep so confident that 2009 will turn out well for them? The answer is simple. No, it's not some game list that haters will tore up, instead i will give the reasons why Wii will change the minds of gamers all around the world about it being "casual".
1. Announcments.
Â
So we all know 2008 was a pretty drag year for nintendo and it's fans as a whole, but the main reason for that was lack of proper announcements. Sure, Sin and punishment and punchout were announced at the nintendo summit but it still doesn't fix the damage done at E3 and it's horrendous casual concentration. Luckily for us, E3 next year will be back just the way it should have been, for the gamers only (and booth babes ^_^). There is no reason for nintendo to go all "casual fun" on us next year, in fact i don't even think they want to. Zelda and pikmin are ready to be shown, who knows, maybe even mario? Whatever it is, a couple of hot titles will  definitely  get the wii back on the right track.
Â
2. Wii Motion Plus.
Â
Wii Motion Plus is probably the biggest reason why people are going to witness an incredible spike towards Wii game scores. Remember all the times when you read the word waggle in the manual to do a move? And start to think if it's really all the Wiimote can do? Well here's something to cheer you up. Wii will be waggle free starting 2009!! That's right, the whole "shake your arms mindlessly" trend will finally pass away with the Wii Motion plus, a small accessory added to the Wii that will make it a real revolution. In the words of reggie himself, "Wii mote was supposed to be powered by Wii motion plus from day one but it was too expensive at the time". Â It's ok reggie! As long as i get to swing my Wii mote as a lasso, and it actually registers as a lasso, Â i'm sold!
Â
3. The Red OceanÂ
Â
Â
As you all know (or don't know), Nintendo's current strategy is called the blue ocean, which means unfounded territory. One could easily link this with the new, expanded audience Nintendo is spending so much time and money on. If all what's said is true, then what do you make of Nintendo's highly important, yet neglected, claim made back in it's last summit that's it venturing in the red ocean? A great sea of sharks and other dangerous fish that color their own waters red from their own power? Yes, you have read all about it before, in an article made by Sean Malstorm called Birdmen and the Casual Fallacy. It explains in great detail how nintendo is approaching this generation, and how their grand plan (called disruption) works. It's all about them working on the lower end tier titles, which ended with Wii music, and moving up the board till they conquer all. Haters have either said he's insane, or overly hopeful or optimistic. However, all his predictions are coming true. What does that mean for the future of the Wii? You tell me!!!!
