Why would any core gamer buy a wii now

ive had my share of galaxy and brawl along with nmh hotd and madworld. my question is why would anyone buy a wii right now when the ps3 has a giant exclusive library,the 360 has the best online out of consoles and multiplats. also the psp and ds are still getting new good games and the computer pawns all...

theres also the successor coming out and not a good release outside of skyward sword in sight.

Maybe because they have not? I figured the thread would be because the Cafe is likely to be BC with Wii.

zelda? Besides if you haven't bought it im guessing you haven't played the epic core titles like Galaxy it has to offer. Also has SMBB, which is probably the best local multi game ever IMO.

To play good games? If you are a gamer looking to buy a Wii right now then there would be plenty of quality titles in your back catalog. As for the future line up I'm only looking forward to Skyward Sword and DQX as exclusives. TLS and Xenoblade as well if they get localized. That's just me though.

i haven't used the Wii for months- but I'm sure I'll be craving some Super Mario Galaxy again sometime soon and will play again :-D

What would be wrong in paying 150 bucks if you really wanted one? They are cheaper than ever plus even if their flagships have been out for a while and none really in sight, who cares? People can buy a backlog of classic Nintendo titles.

As far as I'm aware, the PS3's exclusive library is not bigger than the Wii's. Sure, it has way more exclusives coming out at the moment, but as a whole, I don't think it has more exclusives.

Exactly. Since I dived into the Wii experience fairly late, I have a decent sized library and still have a ton of games that I want to buy.

A core gamer would buy the Wii if the games on it interests them. Because of the games it offers. Wii has a strong exclusive library, multiplats are lacking, but the exclusive library is not

Wii has 34 exclusives that scored 8.0 or above. 77 that scored 7.0 or above
PS3 has 27 exclusives that score 8.0 or above. 45 that scored 7.0 or above

Of course it is missing out on a lot of quality multiplats, but hey, I always viewed it as my secondary system. PC is my primary system. Case in point. Imo, the wii had enough games on it to warrant a purchase.

No matter what's in the release schedule or not, older Wii games didn't vanish. I guess they'd buy one so they could buy older Wii games that interest them and have hopes that they'll come out with some other good games in the future.

There's ton of other core games as well, but no sane core gamer would want to miss out on Zelda or Mario.

Just to have it and look back 5 years saying that I still have my Wii.

But me I would buy it to play Skyward Sword

Wii Classic Controller + Wii Virtual Console = good enough reason to own a wii.

Because this is the perfect time to pick it up and cherry pick the best titles of the past few years.

My wife just picked one up yesterday. I had no interest in it prior to her picking one up but now that it's in my house I might as well make good use of it and play the great games I missed out on. "Core" gamers play anything that interest them no matter the console.
